About Me

I am an ex New Yorker, ex stay at home Mom and an ex married prerson. So I guess that makes me a Single Working Mom in CT. I was a stay at home mom for 12 years, raising 3 funny, smart and beautiful boys. Somehow I managed to get my Masters Degree and a divorce all at the same time. I have learned to be proud of myself and hope my boys will look back on their childhoods and see a devoted, strong and smart woman as there Mom. (and that they don't put me in a nursing home). Ive already done the "right out of marriage sowing of the oats" thing and it was fun. I have even dabbled in some "relationships" but to date no real sparks have flown. I'm not sure that i could have predicted where i am today but Im fairly certain that all roads will point me to where I belong. I am looking for a man that will bring out the best in me and I hope to return the favor. Im not expecting a best friend, I have a best friend and she is great, i want a strong man who can let be me be and love me for it. i want to love my man for being himself. Maybe to be the bestest of allies. I probably won't watch hockey with you cause I can never see the puck and i find it kind of rough. i can certainly sit through a Giants game as my Father used me as a good luck charm for most of my childhood. (I had to sit on the couch and not leave the room, it was fun when it actually worked.) I wont insist that you watch "housewives" or take part in all of my ridiculous activities. (unless you want to.) im low maintenance, not too materialistic, Im an average cook, and keep a clean and warm home, Im smart and I have opinions but I also have class and a good upbringing. I love my work and I try to be a good honest and kind person. i love music, all kinds.. i gotta be me but ill do my best.

    It is September and I have taken a year off from dating and recently decided to give this another try. I don't let things get me down and I always see the positive even in a bad situation. You will always see a smile on my face and I do joke and laugh a lot. I am financially and emotionally stable. I don't watch tv much except for my favorite fall shows and I do not own cable. I prefer to stay busy than being a couch potato. I don't drink much but a glass of wine with a nice dinner out. You rarely will find any alcohol in my house and Im not much of a bar person. I am a faithful and trustworthy person. I put others before myself. I am very comfortable with who I am and where I am in life. Although I like to look nice going out, I definitely have no problem running to the store in jogging pants, tshirt, hair in pony, glasses and no makeup. I think communication is important. I tend to be on the bold side and say whats on my mind. There is never guessing with me, I will let you know what Im thinking. I would like a guy who would equally take charge on making plans. I tend to be the more aggressive one in past relationships and it would be nice for once to have someone make plans and tell me what we are doing, but equally share that responsibility also.What I am looking for is hard to explain. Ive never been willing to settle and I have never wanted to get divorced. Im not looking to get married (if it happens, great) but mostly what I am looking for is a nice healthy committing relationship that may eventually lead to that. This person must be stable, faithful and trusting in all aspects of life. I am not picky in looking for the drop-dead-gorgeous guy, just someone that makes my heart beat a bit faster. It could be the sparkle in their eye, their smile, the way they laugh. Just simple things. I am more attracted to someone who has a nice smile. I do not get along with anyone who is negative or unhappy in their life. I tend to stay far away from those type of people. It is important that this person is willing to involve me and share me with their family as I do not have family near.I am quite sure it will take some time to find the right (not perfect) person for me. I appreciate all the nice *** are sent to me and regret if I feel we are not a good match. I believe this process takes time. Im not a serial dater so I only respond to those that I feel confident on attributes that I am looking for. Most of all, I'm looking for someones who shows respect.Note-Those with shirt-off photos or flexing your muscles, Im not interested. Also not interested if all your photos are taken in a distance or sunglasses and hat in every photo. There are serious and not so serious people on this site. In my opinion, if you put effort into your profile, then you are person that will put effort into a relationship. I like a first date to be simple. A quick drink or I don't mind meeting for lunch/dinner as I do enjoy a nice meal out and conversation. You can expect me to pay for my own as I view this as a first meeting, not a date.
