I am updating this as of ***. I am both amazed and disturbed on what I have found on this and all the other sites(after all it is all the same people). Most are looking just for a hookup even though they say they are looking for a LTR. Some are talking to so many that they don't even remember speaking with you. Others initiate a conversation, even call you then you never hear from them again. Then there are the pigs who don't even know you but only talk about sex. Lastly, are the ones who don't have a clue what they want or are looking for! No wonder there are so many single people out there. What ever happened to romance?? I guess because I have had love and romance my expectations were high. It's a shame really, maybe I am lucky that I have had something special once in my life and should be happy with that. What I do know is that I would rather be alone than be lied to, mislead and just hurt, I am a very loving caring, fun and upbeat person but have been really jaded by these sites. I am still trying to remain positive and have faith but it is becoming harder to do so. I hope others have better luck. Good luck to all I am a widow with one daughter who is out on her own. Family is very important to me an I enjoy spending time with them. I also have long time friends who are also like family to me. I love the beach, the Yankees, the Giants and listening to music. I like to cook but also like going out for a good meal and great conversation. I'm looking for a friend and hopefully more. They must be honest , considerate and have a great sense of humor. I'm not a bar hopper but do enjoy going to a local pub for a drink or two with friends or that special someone.My job is also very important to me and I enjoy working hard but also enjoy my time off.

I'm a retired teacher. I had a second grade classroom for most of my career, but I also taught small groups from grades 1-8. Since retiring I have done volunteer work for the Humane Society (in the office) and the American Cancer Society (driving patients). I have also acquired some rental properties. Two of them were older homes which I renovated, doing as much work myself as I was able to. I really enjoy the creative process of envisioning a more practical, beautiful home, and then choosing the improvements, colors, and materials to make that a reality. My favorite renovation is now a vacation rental, and I loved being able to take the further step of decorating the home (on a budget!), refinishing furniture, sewing curtains and pillows, and creating artwork.I adore animals, especially my own dog and two cats, all of them rescues. I love going to movies, concerts, and live theater--all things that inspire us and connect us to the human race. I get a kick out of trying new foods and recipes and exploring new places. I enjoy reading and learning about many things, including nutrition and health. Finding a beautifully written book is a real thrill. I enjoy a wide variety of music, from classical to pop--pretty much anything but heavy metal or rap.--Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Mama Mia, etc. I love hiking, as long as I can take my time. Climbing to the top of Mount Aeneas this summer was such a treat. It offers ***degree views from what feels like the top of the world. I am positive, friendly, quiet, kind, dependable, playful, and down to earth. I love intelligent conversation and the sharing of thoughts and ideas. My viewpoint is usually liberal. I strongly believe in human rights, and in treating all others with respect and dignity regardless of race, religion, sexual preference, or personal choices. I was raised Lutheran, and later attended Methodist and non-denominational churches. Although I no longer attend church, I continually strive to grow in my spiritual life. I have a broader view of God now and the connectedness of all creation. I am influenced by the works of Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, and Dr. Seuss.I’m looking for a genuine, gentle man with inner strength, who is relaxed and easy going, intelligent, fun to be with, open minded,. and respectful of all others. I want to find someone who laughs easily, but never at the expense of others, who feels childlike enthusiasm over life’s little pleasures, and who accepts me as I am, yet inspires me to be more.
