Since I figured I'd stay awhile, time for an description worthy of anyone who takes the time to read it. *Edit* I can't figure out how to space paragraphs here so apologies, in advance, for the formatting.... So, I'm a hard-working professional in the banking industry (software architect for a number of platforms supporting various aspects such as stock market trading, mortgages, loans and wealth management, etc...) I have been blessed with the ability to work from Cape Breton, where I can stay close to family. Segue to the fact that they are my number one priority. I have two daughters; one who is post-high school and the other who lives with me and still has a couple of years left in her secondary educational journey. My day job allows for the ability to have evenings/weekends free (for the most part) to enjoy the rest of what life has to offer. I'll admit, straight up, I am not a fan of winter, so my activities tend to include a lot more TV binging with a mix of DIY home improvement.. (although I recently activated a membership at the Y to partake in swimming, primarily, and whatever else they have to offer) Once the weather starts to warm up, I become a different person! I love cycling, hiking, swimming, playing summer sports like softball and soccer.. My Mom still has her health and fitness, so I enjoy several outdoor activities with her, as well as catching live music at a local eating establishments. I had a Dad who took great pride in yardwork, so I enjoy the same and love spending time improving my little paradise in the "city." I am looking to develop a friendship with someone who loves nature, and has a true appreciation for this island we live on and sees limitless opportunities to explore it. I love driving and blasting music in the car, so the enjoyment of day trips and road trips are equally as important. As far as the music goes, I try and avoid country music, and anything really mellow, slow and vocal. (I really appreciate artists like Sam Smith for their talent, but it's not my thing..) I'll spike the volume for Metallica or Tool, or completely pump up the volume for Technotronic or Armin Van Buuren. I love travelling and experiencing other cultures. I speak English and French, fluently, and am currently using duolingo to pick up conversational Spanish. If I know someone is from out of town, I'll make a point of making them feel welcome. I love meeting new people and getting to know more about them whether it be the server in the restaurant, tourists, fellow pedestrians or even the person holding the stop sign as I wait for my turn in a construction zone. I feel everyone has a story to tell, and genuinely feel like a better person for knowing yours, no matter who you are. I am very spiritual Christian, and try to live life as such. I believe in trust, respect, integrity and love to our neighbors. We're all fighting our own battles, but overall we're in this life together. I may be the main character in my own story, but I would love to be a supporting character in yours. Being a supportive friend, providing a positive influence and being reliable to others is important to me. If you made it this far, then I feel like I've at least HALF won you over.
