I've been divorced for nearly 2 years. Wounds have been licked and I'm ready to get into the dating scene again-I guess I am a glutton for punishment. Plenty of fish says I should talk about hobbies/goals/my uniqueness and taste in music...here goes:Hobbies: gardening, walking for fun and fitness, fishing, dancing, travel, camping, reading, card and board games. I am fairly competitive but can take a loss with minimal tears and tantrums.Goals: personal goals are finding a partner to share my life and interests with. I have 2 beautiful grown children who have been my primary focus, but now that they are grown I am excited to focus time and energy on myself. What makes me unique...hmmm, with 6,000,000,000ish people on Earth, I don't know that anyone is really THAT unique. However, some qualities I have that make me who I am are an ability to be nearly always happy. I am genetically geared towards a positive outlook, and it's not something I have to work on. I have a permanent smile and a slightly twisted sense of humor. I consider myself to be above average in intelligence (doesn't everyone?), and enjoy conversations with funny, intelligent people. I know, I TOLD you it's difficult to be truly unique! Although my family is very conservative and somewhat religious, I am not. Through painful trial and error I have learned that I need a partner who not only "tolerates," but shares my liberal views.Music tastes: I gravitate towards Indie and alternative rock. Although I can usually find songs within every genre to enjoy, I really don't care for gangster rap and country music. The first is too hateful and the second is too whiney and depressing for my tastes. Guilty TV pleasure: toss up between Americas Next Top Model and So You Think You Can Dance (you would think I'm 15yrs old). Uh, I'm not...pedophiles need not apply. An ideal first date would be somewhere intimate with a good****ail where we could discuss our interests and hopefully find common ground. Best case scenario would be lots of laughing, though not to the milk coming out your nose extent, because that is almost never sexy. I think the mark of a good first date is losing track of the time. If you find yourself checking your watch every few minutes it's probably time to cut your losses and agree to "just be friends"...both knowing we will never be friends. :)Another fun first date would be deep sea fishing... because if you are still attracted to someone who smells like bait you are on the right track. Or maybe a wine tasting tour. I am completely *** wines and would appreciate some guidance on the subject. Plus the smell of the aging barrels is much better than fish bait.

I got into competitive powerlifting a couple of years ago, and despite my size (I'm 5'4", ***lbs), I have had some success at local and national meets and am happy with the level of strength and overall fitness I've achieved. I compete with a phenomenal group of men and women who have become a second family to me. I love art and music; I make the first and appreciate the second, although I was force-fed piano lessons as a kid and am pretty sure I'd be a kick-ass xylophone player. I make a lot of large pieces of visual art for friends and family, and recently (finally!) set up my own studio so I can start selling some of my work.I am a writer and have worked professionally in the TV industry as well as written for magazines and stuff (no, not Penthouse Forum). I have a day job that I love, but have considered moving on to another profession at some point, although there aren't many jobs out there. I'm a licensed bartender but have never held a job doing that. I'm thinking about a switch to a fitness career.I have a dry sense of humor, but enjoy all sorts of movies and TV shows. As much as I enjoy reading, art, and music, I also enjoy great movies and TV--especially funny stuff like Arrested Development, The League, Weeds, and Parks and Rec. I love Will Ferrell movies--maybe they're not high art, but sometimes I just want to laugh!My dog is my regular companion, and I hope to meet another dog-parent or at least someone who also loves the company of dogs and other animals. If you're picky about dog hair and drool, I'm probably not the woman for you... I enjoy plays and live theater, especially improv, although I have trouble sitting still (not medically, I'm just a fidgety person--rather be doing than watching) and like venues like the Upfront and the Triple Door where there's space for socializing.I am a TERRIBLE dancer, but that doesn't mean I won't hit the dance floor for fun! And I'm highly trainable, so if you've got moves, I'm open to lessons. Fortunately, I'm in good physical shape and I'm not that heavy, so what I lack in grace I make up for in general delicacy, and I clean up real nice, so I'll at least look halfway decent in a dress, in your arms, on the dance floor!

What a gorgeous summer we have had! My oldest son is 21 and is out on his own. My youngest son is 15 and is my partner in crime. They are crazy funny and we laugh constantly at our house. My 17 year old daughter lives with me full time and my 11 year old son lives with his dad but spends a few days of the week with me. He thinks mom is pretty boring on her own so hopes that I find a friend that likes to do cool stuff.I would like to find a man with nice eyes and an easy smile. Belief in God is an absolute must. I desire to lead a healthier life and be more active so it would be great if those are your goals also. Someone who is considerate of others' feelings and not judgemental. Someone who still has a lot of life and fun in them and isn't ready to just sit on the couch and retire. Someone who is more outgoing than myself (which doesn't take much) who will gently and patiently ease me past my own comfort zone to try new things. I'd like a man that can be strong and assertive without being an overbearing ass. I want to live life with purpose on purpose and would like to find someone with that same mindset. Hiking, walking along the waterfront, a street fair.... anything that isn't just sitting across the table from each other. Being fairly shy, small-talk isn't my strong suit especially with someone I've never met before so if there is some kind of activity that would kind of take the edge off.
