Hi, a little about me:No big splashy write-up full of lies, exaggerations or 'facts' structured so as to tell you what I think you might want to hear, that's what has brought a lot of us here. The pictures are of me and most are fairly recent. I am fairly sane and reasonable (sometimes require a just little wiggle room though to allow for the fun factor lol).I'd like to think I'm honest, loyal, fair, tolerant, and of a playful nature. I'm a family oriented person and would hope that you are as well. A relationship does take time and work as well as communication, patience, a sense of humour, and some personal space every now and then. I enjoy my children, and will accept your children as well. I like going out dining, seeing movies or attending events, and am also comfortable with a quiet evening as well. I do miss small talk, and having someone to talk to about my day as well as hearing about theirs; seems like a small thing but I think its a biggie.I enjoy cycling, camping, boating, handyman and mechanical work, crosswords, helping others, and travel (especially winter getaways). This is my second attempt at writing this so here goes. I think I am down-to-earth, sensible, friendly, intelligent and responsible and I am TOLD that I am good-looking and look younger than I am. Above I stated that I farm, but actually most of it is rented out and I don't spend too much time at it any more (I like to KNOW how much income I'm going to make each year and I want to have more free time to explore other things that life has to offer). I believe in sticking with your friends and family through thick and thin. Country life suits me fine but its nice to get away and find new places, meet new people and have new experiences. In the near future I am hoping to increase the amount of time I can devote to travel and seeing more of the world. When I go somewhere I don't like to just lay on the beach or sit at the bar (although they are enjoyable too) but I like to get around and experience the history, people and geography of an area. One son is out in Kelowna working and going to school so I have been out to see him on occasion and I really enjoy that part of the country. My pride and joy are my 2 boys who are both well started in their careers and seem to be well-adjusted and happy. Hauling them around to many athletic and school activities over the years I even got used to some of the music they listened to and although I still prefer tunes from the sixties, seventies and eighties I'll listen to just about anything. I enjoy get-togethers with family and friends (I have a large extended family) for meals, games, campfires and visiting. I enjoy cooking, especially trying new recipes and even experimenting (some creations maybe don't work out too well but it is a learning experience). I have a substantial asparagus patch that will soon be in full production and I csan't even begin to use it all so if you like asparagas I always have lots to give away in the spring. I also frequently attend local sporting events and fundraisers. I like to keep up with current events and have a wide variety of interests that, I believe, I can have an intelligent conversation about.(I guess you will have to serve judgement on whether "intelligent" applies). I seem to retain a lot of -sometimes useless?-information in this blockhead of mine but it comes in handy in Trivial Pursuit, Who Wants to be a Millionaire and settling arguments between my friends. I know that I have a great sense of humor (I seem to be using "I" a lot here) and would be looking for someone that can give and take in that department. Life would be pretty dry if we were serious all the time. I spent around 4 years as a single parent getting my boys through high school and then a few years getting them through post secondary, but now that they are on their way, so to speak, I am looking for someone to share this journey we call life. It would really be nice to have some-one to explore the world with, both near and far. I don't really have a particular kind of person in mind. I have friends with a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and I enjoy meeting with and interacting with them all. Honesty, generosity, compassion, independence, intelligence, humor and family values are probably the only DEFINITE requirements I have. When I read this it does sound like a lot, but I think they are all tied together in one way or another! If you can put these attributes together in a nice package, so much the better. Looking forward to meeting you Any place public where we can talk and get to know each other. I am open to coffee, drinks, a good meal, or even a stroll somewhere. I'm open to suggestions.

I own a remodeling business and am an active worker on the job sites. Haven't taken a vacation in years...that's going to change. I have a very large garden and separate corn and pumpkin patches.
