If I hadn’t lost her to cancer several years ago, I would have been happy to live out my life with her. Physical beauty fades, but the beauty of a person’s essence, is permanent. We all have our preferences, regarding physical appearance, but we really don’t see the physical fully, until we know more about what lies underneath. Patience, tolerance, empathy, an open mind, among others, are the things that make a person truly beautiful. I enjoy gardening, woodworking, tropical fish keeping, and spending time in nature, among other things. Although I am serious in relationships, I do find humor in even the most trying of situations. It seems to be an effective weapon. As Mark Twain said: “Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand”.
