So... where to begin? Im a divorced father of 2 kids who mean everything to me. I love outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, racquetball, boating, scuba diving, 4- While I do like to stay active, im not opposed to a night out at a movie or dinner, or even just hanging out and in front of a fire while watching old DVD’s, as long as its with someone who actually wants to be there doing that. To me, the activity isn't as important as the company. I've got everything from Johnny Cash to Eminem on my Iphone, although probably more Rock (80s, 90s, and newer stuff) than anything else. I was raised to be a gentleman. I'm old fashioned enough to still believe that a gentleman opens doors for his lady, and that she deserves to be treated with respect. I am very affectionate, even in public. I want someone who appreciates my sarcasm and wit, and who doesn't mind if I spoil them on occasion. I take great enjoyment from surprising people I care about with gifts and things. I am looking to find someone with similar interests with whom I can develop a friendship first and see where it goes from there. That being said, I am not into "friends with benefits". If and when things get serious, I am a loyal, monogamous person and would expect the same. So if you are just looking for a booty-call, I am not your guy. Maturity, intellect, and charisma are far more appealing to me than supermodel looks. I stay pretty busy between work and raising my kids, one of whom I home school, but I can make time for the right person.Conversation is important, and my ideal partner would be intelligent enough to carry on a conversation with me that concerned something more in-depth than the latest episode of some reality show.Oh, and I should probably mention that I am not LDS, but I do believe in God. I am not obnoxious about it however and don't try to force my beliefs on others. That being said, I try to raise my kids with Christian values, so if someone were overtly new-agey that would probably be a no- And yes I have had that happen so I felt the need to add the disclaimer.Still reading ? Drop me a line, and let's see where things go. I think for a first date, we should go somewhere or do something where a conversation is actually possible, so we can get to know one another. Movies, or other noisy places aren't a good setting for this, so I would say a low key Dinner and/or drinks would be a good start, or maybe something a little more exotic like ice skating or Lagoon, depending on the season. Even bowling, or something less physical like a walk through a park would be fine.

okay so I've been here before and the thing is I've learned what I want and what I don't want and what I will and will not compromise on.so here is my list:1. first we all have flaws I'm very well aware of mine and I'm not going to try to nitpick yours and I expect the same in return. I want to find someone who accepts me for me for all the good things and the bad things that make me who I am and I hope to do the same for someone else.2. I am a father first and foremost and I raise my little girl the best that I can she is with me full time but that doesn't mean that I can't make time for someone else. I understand being a single parent and respect that if you are a single parent as well that we can only make so much time but if you're interested all I ask is that you make the effort and stick to it.3. in the future I would like to share in raising one more child together. If you can't have children or don't want more I completely understand and I respect where you're coming from however, I also know that you're not going to be the one for me.4. if you don't like or don't care for the military or someone who's been in the military you are definitely not going to be for me. I spent nearly 18 years in the military service and I'm a decorated combat veteran and take pride in my fellow veterans and my military.5. if you don't enjoy movies video games camping fishing hiking backpacking outdoor sports sports in general shooting guns etc then you're also not going to be for me. I do enjoy going down town and going to restaurants in getting out and being active but at the end of the day I still like to be able to share some interest in common with the person I'm with so that we can do activities together and with or without the kids.6. I have tattoos a lot of them and I hope to actually get more someday. so if you don't like tattoos I'm probably not going to be your type of guy either.7. physical attraction and chemistry is a must in any relationship but so is being able to establish a good healthy friendship based on other things other than physical or sexual attraction. That being said I don't necessarily have a type but I do prefer someone that is active and outgoing and even if you have a couple extra pounds you're willing to be active with me and work on it together as a couple. I'm pretty much up for anything but at the same time I think a first date coming from an online dating site should be something where its public you're both comfortable and it can be over quickly if things go bad. I'd like to think that a first date should be something like a park coffee I drink something short just to get to know one another and see if you have anything worth pursuing for second date and then the second date should be something that you really put a lot of effort into and have a lot of fun with.
