I'm fairly new to this. In the past, I have identified as straight/hetero, although I have always been attracted to women for most of my life. I have probably been attracted to women for WAY longer than I was attracted to the male gender, but I just naturally did what society expected of me cuz that was the "norm." However, the older I get, the more I want to be true to MYSELF and do what makes ME happy, regardless of what others, including loved ones and family, may think. I would "label" myself as bi- or Omni-sexual, in that I'm not "attracted" to a person based on their gender. I'm a pretty intellectual person in a lot of ways (quite contrary to my artsy ways), but that's just how I am. For me, attraction is WAY more than physical attributes, it's about how well I get on with a person in all these other facets. That takes time, unfortunately, and in a fast-paced society, everyone wants "fast relationships." I never was one for that sort of thing, even when I was exclusively dating the male gender.Primarily, I'm just looking for like-minded individuals to meet, get to know, and to take it from there. Who knows what could happen? Maybe nothing will happen, but at least now I'm being true to myself and admitting it to myself. Nothing fancy, just very casual, like going out for coffee or something like that. I'm really not hard to please. When the weather is nice, I LOVE to be outdoors, like at a park or something.

Now that I have a chance to sit down and actually pen something worth reading...I am 33. I have high expectations of myself and of the people I love. I have found that far too many people have lowered their expectations in order to try to become happy. I don't think it is possible to be happy in any sense of the word if you're "lowering" anything, lest of all, standards or expectations.I am totally over cruising a club for a relationship - it stopped when I was in my very early twenties. I like to dance a lot, I enjoy a well-crafted drink when available but probably will never fall down drunk while in or out of your presence. I can't appreciate a sloppy person. A good impression while intoxicated is a lasting one. I am open to many different scenarios but my musts are these: 1. You have to read, at the minimum, a regular periodical. Please know what a periodical is. If you like book stores, museums, libraries or the Opera - I would consider a date with you. My treat.2. You must love and respect your friends and family and YOURSELF. I have no qualms about a significant other spending time alone, without me, with these two groups of people nor otherwise. I encourage it.3. You must take pride in how you look. I can admire a woman with a sense of tasteful but trendy. I will tell you often how fantastic you look. And you can expect me to always comb my hair, floss my teeth and have clean shoes. Fact.4. You must have a sense of humor. I am the first person to laugh at myself. I hope you enjoy a comedian because that's part of who I am. I haven't been on stage yet but I mustering the guts as I type. 5. You must have a moral compass or some sense of ethical value. 6. You must follow politics at a minimum. I expect you to know who the President, Prime Minister, etcetera, of your Country is.7. You must be intelligent. It's important to me to have a smart partner even if we are casually dating, I like to talk about things of substance.I am a loyal, genuine, honest, respectful, encouraging, courageous, up-front, thoughtful, one-of-a-kind, original. I realize I must sound sort of demanding but I think like a lot of people, I feel I have wasted time with people that do not fit some of my expectations. And I feel like I'm worth it, I guess.
