About Me
There is more to me than what is written in these few paragraphs. Here's a glimpse:
I'm recently retired, after serving almost thirty years in public service. My plans for retirement: sleep more, work a side job, volunteer, travel more than I did when I was working, mountain bike more often and work out more often. I've been to many other countries and I still have more to visit. My bucket list: African Safari, Iceland, Antarctica, Thailand, to name just a few. I'm a social person and find social situations energizing. I love being around people who make me laugh, and I enjoy making someone else laugh. Laughter is healing, and laughing at oneself is humbling. Humor is essential in our world! I'm fortunate to have a good family and good friends. I'm a kid at heart and always want to play. I love being outdoors, in nature. I love to dance, travel and experience new adventures. Both friends and acquaintances tell me I'm down to earth and grounded.
I enjoy meaningful conversations about life, goals and topics that matter. I also enjoy conversations about the silly things that happen in life and the people who make them happen.
I'm pretty self aware, introspective and try to be aware of my imperfections. I feel I’m authentic. I try not to judge others and keep an open mind. I'm a work in progress, like most of us, and recognize that life and relationships can be complicated at times. Relationships are work and many of them need nurturing, whether with friends, family or a significant other. We all have our baggage, some bags are heavier than others. Some of the bags are checked and some carry on. What would be ideal is to find someone who I connect with, and merge the bags into one carry-on. Lighter and cheaper.
