It is a shame that I have to do this first, but after being on here a week or so I need to put out a disclaimer. If you don't have a job, a car, you live with your parents, you have children but don't see them for whatever reason, then I'm not the one for you. I am a caring individual who takes his work and responsibilities very seriously. I have a lot of different interests ranging from being outdoors fishing, hiking, camping, or kayaking, to old movies and plays. I enjoy going exploring places. One of my favorite local places is Niagra on the Lake. I own my house, and have a nice relaxing back yard, which I have spent a lot of time fixing up. I am not ok with home repairs. Just do not ask me to hang up a shelf straight, no matter how many times I measure it, it will still be slanted. I am not big into sports, but I do enjoy watching international competitions like the Olympics and America's Cup. I also, do occasionally like going to baseball and hockey games. I do root for the Phily teams since, I grew up outside of the city. I rowed in college, and have done some competitive sailing. Non-competitively, I enjoy playing tennis and golf. Tried a golf league once and did not find it enjoyable. It is a lot more fun when you are with friends, especially when you are still learning. I currently work in local government, but my goal is to go back and get my pHD and become a full time college professor. I volunteer on different projects from time to time. The most current project is getting some city youth using GIS (geographic information systems) to develop a building health inventory of their neighborhoods to help improve conditions. Another side of this project is to improve food distribution from the community gardens in the neighborhood. Music keeps me going most days. I love classic rock, blues, and jazz the most. I still listen to records and have a fairly good collection. I like going to concerts.My family and friends are quite important to me. I try to help and support them as much as I can, and they support me, too. I am looking for, in someone, is a professional, who has a good sense of who they are. Someone who, may have a lot of similar interests, but not necessarily the same. But where we differ, be open to share and learn about each other. I do come off as shy at first. As I get to know someone and feel comfortable my personality comes through. I am also very patient with things and a good listener. Something simple, where we can talk. Walking along the canal with a coffee (or in my case a tea) or appetizers and drinks at a local resturant.
