An Open Letter to Her
I wonder what your name is, more importantly will you feel special just hearing it cross my lips?
I wonder if your smile will light up the room, or have you forgotten how to smile? Will I be the reason you smile again, if so?
I wonder what color your eyes are. More importantly will they shine when you see me regardless of their color?
I wonder if you have dark hair or light hair. If your hair is long or short, straight or curly. More importantly, will you let me run my fingers through it?
I wonder if you can dance and if you love dancing like I do. More importantly will you dance with me in the kitchen, in the rain, in public in a random store when a great song is being played?
I wonder if you will talk with me about life, religion, politics, current affairs and nothing at all. More importantly, will you enjoy my company when there is nothing to talk about?
I wonder if you will cook with me, wash dishes with me, rake leaves with me. More importantly, will you enjoy just spending g time with me?
I wonder if you will be proud of me. Even when my best may not produce the outcome we desire all the time.
I wonder if you will allow me to be your best friend. I wonder if you will allow yourself to be mine.
I wonder if you have your own children. I wonder if you will be ok with me loving them as they were my own, if you do. I wonder if you will cherish my children as though they were your too.
I wonder if you will love peanut butter, cream cheese and random late night snacks. If not, I wonder if you will mind that I do.
I wonder if you will walk with me, run with me, play with me. More importantly, will you stay healthy with me so we can share more life together?
I wonder if you like random adventures. Driving on a day off to the beach or the mountains. Exploring antique shops or trendy tourist stores. More importantly, will you hold my hand regardless of the destination?
Wherever you are, whoever you are, whatever your name is; are you going to be ok with me treating you like the only Her in the world, focusing on your happiness, your wellbeing, your security, and making you my priority?
I wonder lots of things about you... this letter could go on for pages.... but I think most importantly, I wonder when you will get here.
I am ok with being alone. I am confident in my solidarity. I know myself and I am comfortable being just me, always. But, it sure would be a blessing to share myself and my life with you....
