I'm horrible at these things but I suppose I can give it a go.I have an amazing life and want to share it with a great person. I'm happy and secure, love being outdoors and being involved in a wide variety of activities. I know how to balance hard work with adventure. I am versatile and have fun getting dressed in heels and doing a night on the town with dinner and the theater.I work in an office, so I love anything that gets me outside. I enjoy long walks on the beach, either by myself or with someone special. Hiking on the trails brings me next to nature. I have a zest for life and would like to experience all the good and fun things that life has to offer I am always looking for my next adventure. Rather than sit on the sidelines and watch, I like to get out there and live. I love trying new activities and visiting places that I've never been to before. I am now at the place where there is opportunity to be more spontaneous. My friends know me as an honest, responsible, and genuine and fun loving person who has a great sense of humor. I am a positive person and look at life's challenges as lessons from which we can grow and become stronger.I have 2 teenagers who keep me grounded, and encouraged me to try this little "online dating" thing.Likes:Music: I'll try just about anything but country.Food: Once more I'm rather open about my choices here. I'm more partial to East Asian cuisine, but nothing beats a good barbecue!Movies: Comedies or thrillers get me going. Nothing bores me more than a romantic comedy or "chick flick" (ugh).Sports: Hockey and football mostly. What can I say? Canadian girl!Books: I just finished reading The Racketeer by John Grisham and am looking for more suggestions! When messaging me:Please don't send me cut and paste messages that are vague and don't detail anything about the profile you just read.I'm fine, thanks for asking (which means don't ask how I'm doing... It'll prove you're not capable of reading a profile)"U" and "R" are letters, not words.

I'm constantly bewildered by the cruel joke of heterosexuality. Why am I drawn to and attracted to the opposite sex when it appears that everything about us is, indeed, opposite? It seems that men are more suited to living with men, and women with women. So why are we trying to fit a square peg into a round hole (please pardon the pun as I believe I've just answered my own question while philosophizing). I am sort of a walking contradiction in that I love people but am sort of a loner. I'm a little bit country, but I'm also a little bit rock 'n' roll. I love to go for a long hike in the woods with my dogs, but when I get home I might blast some Radiohead or Pink Floyd... or Johnny Cash. Then there's big band music! So much to choose from...I like social gatherings but I'm more likely to enjoy doing something productive. Most of my hobbies entail solitude. Things like painting, writing (screenplays mostly), hiking, biking, hanging out with my dogs. Very dedicated to my dysfunctional family, as well. I'm not a huge fan of television but do like public TV and a few cable shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm." I could watch that show for hours. Also like Mad Men and a guilty pleasure is "The Bachelor". I can be too serious/cynical about life sometimes but when my mind is free from worrying about my family, my friends and the planet, I can be a hell of a lot of fun! I love to laugh but I also can appreciate a peaceful Sunday morning drinking coffee, listening to music and reading the paper. (One stripper said that a raisin was once originally a pickle--I'm sorry, it's cruel but it makes me feel better about myself!) I'm a pescatarian and would prefer someone that's not big on eating meat. Also would love someone who is outdoorsy and more of a homebody than an adventurer.I've been told I'm a gay man trapped in a woman's body. Maybe you should be a lesbian trapped in a man's body? First date should always be quick and painless, like ripping off a band-aid, just to see if there is chemistry. A quick dinner/drink or lunch is preferred. If we make it to the second date, I'd like to take a day trip to a city I've never been to before (provided I'm driving so you can't try to kidnap me, only to be seen again on milk cartons--Have you seen this girl?) and explore the local culture. Restaurants, shops, art museums, plays, etc. If the day goes well, the drive back home exchanging time on the iPods (which we'll bring on the first date, of course) should be titillating!

Im the best kind of different you will ever meet. complicated in the most uncomplicated way..with a strong love of life and NO tolerance for whining or excuses...i dont do it..neither should you. i love to have fun and laugh..ive spent the past couple years in a very boring rut and this is where that changes. if you want to know more..just ask. dont be shy because i sure as hell am not. Im tired of boring and intense. A first date..and all dates for that matter should be FUN, cold beer, good conversation and no drama.
