Hello there! I guess you're reading this because you want to know a little about me, so if I haven't answered all your questions below, or if you want to chat, feel free to send me a message. Happy reading, and hope you like what you read. I am currently trying to finish my doctorate. My professional life is kind of on hold till I finish my degree. I also do a part time job at the university whereby I get handed a class of children ***As well as the part time job teaching kids, I am also a visiting lecturer at another university, where I teach postgraduate students.I'm really good at:Water based activities (Sailing, Open Water Rowing, Surfing, Body boarding etc.)Reciting lyrics from random songs (this is seriously odd, and worrying at times).Favorite music, tv shows and movies:You can see what I'm currently listen to, and have listened to over at last fm, by googling 'jonhurlock last.fm', but to be honest I will pretty much listen to anything.Movie wise I will pretty much watch anything (though I tend to dislike horror, due to being repetitive) . I am quiet a movie buff and really enjoy chilling out watching a good movie. On a typical Friday night I am:Trying to relax as much as possible after work. If the weather permits it this means going for a Surf, heading down to the beach or BBQing with friends. If the weather isn't so nice, a few drinks with friends at a pub or cafe.If i'm feeling up for it, 'attempting' to dance at some place which plays some music (this must be after a few drinks). I think attempting is probably a key part to this paragraph. You should message me if:... If you like being outdoors, and doing something... simply you want to chat or meet up.... you'd like someone to spend the evening with at a gig, exhibition, film or a dance class... and don't mind a pretty awful dance partner.... you dig poking round in little shopping arcades, museums, art galleries and going to the odd offbeat festival.... you want to go explore. Or how about I take you to see some owls, have a go at archery and have a chat over a cup of tea? Saying that if you have something better in mind, tell me! I'm pretty easy as long as we get a chance to have a chat. I'm not really a fan of the whole meeting people in bars and clubs thing, and definitely not a fan of trying to shout over music just to have a conversation.

So this is where I have to sell myself in a handful of words.?? I'm not going to lie, life is pretty great at the moment. I had an amazing summer spending time in Africa and Europe working and playing then came home to start my new dream job at a primary school. Living on the river really gives you the motivation to get out and enjoy it, hence the new canoeing hobby. Which seems like such a stupid hobby to start as the cold, dark days are fast approaching. The past ten years has seen me living and working all over the world. Most recently Sao Paulo last year where I got the bug for teaching. It was a great opportunity to test the waters and see if I was cut out for the world of teens or primary. The under tens won for sure. I work in a wonderful school whilst studying to become a full time teacher. When the holidays hit though I am normally on a airplane out of here. An amazing way to combine my love for travel and exploring whilst learning some always handy leadership skills. Knocked around Central America for a bit before that, my Spanish is ok-ish. Australia for a couple of years before that and in and out of the states. I love the states. My best trips have been when its me, great company, a truck and no plan. America is great for that.A few things I like and love....- tea and good coffee-BBC 6 music-Sundays-blue skys-mountains and beaches equally--cooking for large groups-camping-waking up in a tent when it raining outside and you're all cosy-I almost like running, not yet but getting there.-raspberries-randomness.............plenty of stuff really. The past few months really sums me up, that's what i'm kind of about. Getting out there, having fun, seeing the world, meeting new people and just grabbing life with both hands. I'm always up for meeting new, fun people. A quick drink somewhere with someone new is always enjoyable so if interested then drop me a line and lets see what happens. Depending on the day and more importantly HOW the day has gone. Maybe it's a coffee and couch someone where to relax or someplace outside to get some fresh air if i've been cooped up inside all day. The river is always a nice place to be.......
