Sometimes I think the Hopeless Romantic, yet strong independent woman, finishes last....but I am not giving up yet!! I can be casual/one of "the guys", but like dressing up for a night on the town. I enjoy nights by a fireplace (or firepit) with wine and a good horror movie, to watching the Bears with beer and wings, to an all out big night dinner, drinks and dancing. Music (and writing) is a true outlet for me. Always seem to have the radio on, a CD in or going to see a band in town with friends. Enjoy Rock, Alternative, Dance, with some Jazz/Easy listening thrown in. Yes, still searching for that fairytale, but I also know that life is not perfect!! But when it is the right person, right situation...it all seems to work. My children are first in my life, and I always have their best interest in mind..HOWEVER, mommy needs her time too and I want to be happy! Family is important to me. Life should be a balance of working hard, playing hard and making memories with family and friends. So it helps if the person I am with has strong family bonds and kids of their own to understand the struggles and joys of parenthood. I am looking for someone motivated, knows what he wants to be when he grows up and can be himself...we are getting too "mature" for games aren't we? Looking for someone to date, that actually is looking for a serious, committed, "in love forever" relationship in the end. So if we click early on....just go with it, don't play the games, and enjoy the ride. Life is definitely too short!! I like someone who can make me laugh, but knows when to be serious, takes care of himself, and has a passionate side if that moment should come around. Physically I like tall men (well, taller than me at least)..just like that "secure" feeling when hugging or dancing with my head on his shoulder or chest. Those who really do READ and ask questions rather than saying simply "Hi'! will be the only ones who get responses! I'm a intelligent professional who is active and fit. I'm a free thinker and a bit of an oxymoron:,a science "nerd" in high heels. Known for a wacky sense of humor. What do I like to do? Well, I belong to a couple of Meetup groups for wine and dining; I hope you might be open to both. We do dinners and live music anywhere (not rap). I don't like to BBQ every weekend, or fish, though I can do both. I'm looking for a relationship with honesty, deep discussions, and passion foremost. I would like romance and hope you do too. You should be open-minded, witty, kind, compassionate and preferably very well-read, if not college-educated. Not trying to be shallow, but you need to be physically active and fit--I am and my pics are recent; yours should be also. We all gain a few pounds as we age and a good intellect is the most important, but be proportionate. I'm not sure why men complain that women here lie about their weight when I see the same thing all the time. Also, good grammar and the ability to use both paragraphs and the phone when communicating help! I am not into lots of texting and messages for a month as a start--a call is a good way to see if there's chemistry. I also can't believe how many "great" guys want sexting/naked pics by the 3rd contact and a quick hook-up. If that's you, go away; far, far away! I am interested in finding and sharing a last great love--which would mean the "M" word someday. If you think you will never re-marry then you aren't right for me. Doesn't mean right this minute; first we'll see how that all important chemistry (mental and physical) goes. I would like to be friends first, though, so please NO requests for "random acts of intimacy"; I'm not that lonely.Really think that meeting for a simple coffee or glass of wine is best--where conversation can be heard and some sense of potential chemistry can be assessed. A first date for me--that's next, when the chemistry is obviously there. And I'm a little old school--I don't want to set up the first date--be spontaneous and surprise me is best.
