Once upon a time there was this little girl. She grew up in a small village, but longed for the bright lights of the big city, so as soon as she was able she moved to the city with big castles and bright lights. There she kissed a lot of frogs until one day she met a Prince. He then took her to an even bigger city with bigger lights and bigger castles! Of course like all Princes he worked many hours to pay for the big castle, leaving the Princess alone and bored. So finally she said goodbye to the Prince and she left to go back to her big city and live in her own small castle. After many years alone, she met and fell in love with the town fool, and they had two beautiful children. Now this Princess was a smart girl, so living with a town fool had many challenges. She tried to help the town fool become a smarter person, but to no avail. After many years of trying she gave up and left the town fool behind too! Then following her dream of living in a village near the sea, she took her children, her dog and made a long boat trip to a wonderful village on an Island. It was not too big and not too small, but just right! At last she is happy now living in her small castle again in a village by the sea! The only thing this Princess longs for is her happily ever after Prince. One day my Prince will come.Okay seriously, I'm no Princess, and I'm not really looking for a Prince! In fact a good sense of humor and intelligence are the main qualities I'm hoping for! I'm one of those people that finds myself laughing when no one else is. Have you ever done that? It can be embarrassing sometimes. Hobbies are walks and hikes anywhere around the Island, weather permitting. Sorry, not into hiking to the top of a mountain in the winter! I'd rather be in a tropical climate every winter, but I'm not that independently wealthy yet. I enjoy a well crafted movie. I love cooking for family and friends. Dining out with good company is wonderful. I love trying new foods and new places. Of course the restaurant selection in Nanaimo isn't the greatest, but we are getting some new ones with culture and good food! I love the ocean. Just the smell of the salt water is amazing. Soooo, if you have an oceanfront property, you will definitely score points with me...lol! I try to workout at least a couple times a week, but I do yoga every day. I work a lot, but when I'm not working, I'm spending time exploring this wonderful island! Love a good glass of red/white wine by a fireside or a beer (now and then) on a patio. My deck is ocean view, so it does just fine too! I am spiritual, but not religious. I believe in a power or energy that we can create our world with. I am a globally minded person. I think of the world as belonging to all of us, regardless of race, age, sex, or even species. I believe there is plenty to go around and plenty to share. I hope a partner would have a similar outlook. My kids don't want to hang out with me much anymore so I have free time now. I am looking for a spiritual person who knows who they are and wants to share in life's journey. As a Gemini, I have a very open mind to what life brings and I thoroughly love changes and challenges! You: more than anything the most important quality would be someone who is open minded and still learning. A man who welcomes change, as nothing remains the same and everything is always in motion.     First of all I don't text. Whats more my cell phone does not receive texts. That is not going to change. So if your one of those people that doesn't like talking on the phone, we're gonna have communication problems. If returning a phone call to a female friend is to much of a commitment for you then we will not get along.Second, I am not interested in anything with a married man that wants something on the side. You need to have a pic of you and not of an object or sports logo or anything other than you. Put a bad one up there if that is all you have. I put 2 bad ones up but hey, that is what I look like. I don't like getting my picture taken.I'm independent and I like to go where I want when I want, take out my own trash, do my own lawn, kill my own bugs, can change my own tire, and fix what ever i can fix around the house. I'm sure not as fast and as good as you but I get the job done just the same. I've been trying to get into running.....trying. I'm getting better and now I'm just trying to get faster. Some of the things that I enjoy are taking naps, gardening, the mountains, roller derby, walking, kayaking, canoeing, and live music. Give me a couch, a blanket (in the winter) or a blanket (in the summer), and a movie and I'm going to sleep. Its just one of those certainties like death and taxes. I don't like the lifetime channel at all and I only watch chick flicks if I'm really really bored. I'm not much for going out to bars and drinking. I prefer to stay at home to drink, not that I drink much anyway. But I am the homebody type. I like movies and music but I am picky about what I watch and listen to. I do not have cable so I am not up to date on the TV shows. I do enjoy Mob wives not sure why. I love love love chicken noodle soup, strawberry shortcake (with ice cream not whipped cream), chicken fajita quesadillas, and pasta with meat sauce. I like my coffee cold not hot. I like to garden but mostly I end up just feeding the filthy squirrels. But at lest they're eating good and have a wide variety to choose from. I love amusement parks and roller coasters are my favorite. So if you're scared of them then I don't think it will work out unless you like being called a sissy. If you act like a girl I'm gonna call you on it. If you have a cat, well that will be a problem because my dog hates them with a passion along with squirrels (but not enough to keep them out of my garden. lazy dog). She also dislikes loud little kids but I can't complain because they are not on the top of my like list either. Sorry to all you loud little kid owners. I hate seafood, mushrooms, olives, peanutbutter, and turkey. I'm not to certain bout artichokes either. I don't eat seafood at all.I'm looking for what a lot of you are looking for someone that will be my best friend, make me laugh, someone that will not lie, cheat or steal, and stick around. Some one that doesn't just say what he thinks I want to hear.Go downtown and get something to drink and just walk around and talk is cool with me.
