ABOUT ME: I've often wondered whether there are any couples who, if they were to put their profile of a dating website, would they pick each other?Ok-- everyone likes to laugh, loves their kids more than the world (I'd be concerned if you didn't), does not like games, wants to live life to the fullest, and find that someone special. What makes one person different from another on a dating site is the most difficult thing to discover. I do not believe that people need to share every hobby and interest to have chemistry.I was recently told that in a hybrid of a type A and type B personality because I'm really laid back but am a perfectionist. -- I don't see myself as a perfectionist, I just look at things with the attitude that its not hard to do it the right way.I'm just an everyday, run of the mill guy who tries to do the right things, has a good life, family, and friends. I was raised with good manners and morals, and know how to treat people right. I'm sort of the boy next door.I own my own house (at least the small part that isn't still owned by the bank!) and am secure in my finances as well as with my sanity! I'm a pretty laid back person who can get along in pretty much any situation. Also, I should mention up front that I'm a bit of a smart ass (or so I've been told!) I'm happy with my life, just would like someone to share it with. So far, I have been lucky enough to have my family live close enough that we all get together for birthdays and holidays, they are very important to me. My sense of humor is a combination of wit, sarcasm, and dry humor. I tend to find humor in most situations and do my best to keep it reigned in when necessary. I enjoy intelligent conversations and would like someone who can share my wit and sarcasm along with it. I have a goal of finding someone who appreciates the little things in life and believes that they are what makes a relationship great.I believe in God although I don't go to church as often as I should (I really like sleep!)My favorite thing to do is hang out with my 13 year old son whom I have half custody of. In the summertime, anything outside is the best thing to do and the place to be. Whether it is walks, runs, bicycle rides, or just sitting out on my deck, outside is a good thing! I have a work ethic that I'm proud of but am very conscious about not letting work rule my life. I'm pretty much an open book and not terribly shy, so don't hesitate to ask me anything you are curious about.I know the difference between your and you're as well as their, there, they're.ABOUT YOU:I'd like someone willing to learn new things and teach me new things as well. If all of our hobbies are the same, there is no motivation to try new things.I'm looking for a best friend, a confidant, someone to be my voice of reason, someone to throw that voice of reason out the window, someone to be a dork with, someone who can hold a good conversation about many subjects, someone to put me in my place when needed. (a bit feisty and attitude is kinda fun too!) Someone to have friandly banter with. I would like someone who can challenge me in different ways. You should be intelligent enough to have great conversations but not so intense that there is not plenty of room for fun!You should be comfortable dressing up for a fancy event, but enjoy jeans and a sweatshirt as well. You should have a work ethic that you are can be proud of. I suppose it should go unsaid, but I'm looking for someone who is stable in their life-emotionally and financially. You don't need to go to church every Sunday but believing in God is important. You must have a positive outlook on life--no Negative Nellies!Having a good grasp on the English language is a definate plus. (We use it everyday, it's not that difficult!) A few random things about me: I've been to the Boundary Waters many times as a chaperone for my church's youth group, I'm working on watching all of the best picture winners ever-- I'm back to ***, one time when I was 16 I spent some time in the back of a police car (ask me why). I once worked delivering singing *** first date can be one of the most stressful things in the world or it can be one of the most fun things in the world. It sometimes feels like a job interview but with the right person who you click with, it is like talking with an old friend. Something simple like drinks or coffee would be a good way to start and see where it goes from there. There is nothing off of the top of my head that would make me say no to a first date scenario...well except maybe taunting angry wolves with a sharp stick or something along those lines! I'm not much of a dancer or a club type of person, but if that's your thing and you aren't embarrassed by my horrible lack of rhythm, I'll be there.
