About Me

I am looking to meet new people and get out and enjoy life a little more than I have had time to the last couple years. I spend a fair amount of time on the road and am looking for exciting people to get out with and enjoy each others company. I like the outdoor life and sports. I love live music and large events. If the Oilers are in town, I will be at the game! I moved out west as a teenager (hitch-hiking with my big brother at ***and never looked back. Thankfully the rest of my family followed and we all now live in the West. I hope to spend portions of my winters down there for the next few years. The atmosphere, climate, and people are just amazing. I'm usually a very relaxed and friendly person, but when life/work stress gets to me I am frustrating to be around, and I know it. I usually take those times to be away from people and usually try to catch up on my reading (which I'm always behind on) or focus on other personal endeavours.- *** I tend to load a lot of activities and outings into small time frames, so when it's my time to have a good time, you can bet I'm going to have it no matter what. I also love trying new things and having new experiences. I am not looking for a particular type of woman, but I would like to find someone who has grown out of the nightclub scene but can still go out and dance a night away occasionally. I also need someone who is not self-involved and understands that there is a whole world going on around us everyday, and I hope you know something about it. I am very intelligent and a complete autodidact, so I need to be with free and active thinkers. I don't say this to be critical or mean spirited. If your idea of conversation is re-capping what happened on your favourite TV show, I will fall asleep. I believe in the old saying - Simple minds talk about people, Average minds talk about things, but Great minds talk about ideas. Going out for dinner and a sporting event would be nice. Going out with a mixed group of friends for an afternoon and then dinner later is always nice too. Perhaps a round of golf before the snow flies? If I know a little about you I can probably come up with something clever and fun. Leave it up to me and I won't disappoint. I'm very curious by nature and will probably find your interests as appealing as my own.

    So….I’m often thought of as a serious-minded professional and I would agree, adding playfulness and a good sense of humour. I enjoy great conversations and witty banter with a touch of sarcasm. I’m a little old-school I think - I value integrity, hard work, respect and honesty, but I have a liberal mindset (read that as old fashioned values not outmoded ideas). I am not an all-day beach person though I crave some sun and relaxation. I would prefer to explore ruins, temples and sites of significance (but don't expect to find me in a hostel) – I confess to being a local craft market junkie and can happily spend too much time (and money) exploring the local culture. Yes, I do like to shop.I classified myself as "about average" for body type. My friends just laugh at me. They seem to think I am on the more fit side of this equation. Whatever. I value fitness though. That said, you will not find me at a gym working out. My preference is for walking. Say ***km a week or so, and some daily exercise thrown in for good measure. Ideally, the person that I am looking for similarly values a reasonably healthy lifestyle and a level of fitness.I enjoy the company of a serious-minded individual who combines this with an easy-going personality – like me, someone who can move between serious and playful; someone who is fun and can make me laugh; someone who values her career and appreciates balance, taking time to relax. Honesty, loyalty, integrity, and dependability I would hope are givens. So basically, a soundly functioning moral compass. This, added to a gentle and kind-hearted soul, can add up to the personality I would enjoy spending quality time with. I won't be so cliché as to say that I am looking for someone to complete me; I am at a place in my life where I am basically happy with where I am, but it would be so nice to share the journey.I am not particularly looking for a casual relationship.
