About Me

I am typically the type of person who maintains a small group of close friends. However, friends get married, have kids, move back home, and you lose touch. This happens at a time when it is hard to meet new people. You find you are too old for the bar scene. Plus, I find you do not enjoy the poor lighting, loud music, and club scene dominated by geeky banker-types who act like they are auditioning for the autistic version of Dancing With The Stars. Not that I can dance. No one will ever say "This is my friend Joe ... boy choreographer". I always thought I would have a similar lifestyle. Wife, kids, dogs, Volvo wagon, orthodontia bills, and private school tuition. Unfortunately, that is not the way my life played out. However, I spend my time with productive activities like going to the gym, running, home decorating, and working a second job as an adjunct professor. Full disclosure.. When I am running I look like someone pulling a sled.I thought Plenty of Fish might be a fun way to meet someone who is interested in family and a long-term relationship. There is always an awkward element to all first dates. There are high expectatations and a lot of uncertainty about meeting someone you don't really know. I prefer something relaxed and casual where you can share conversation and see if there is any connection. Chemistry is such a difficult thing to define. You send a lot of time sharing paragraph jumbles in cyberspace. However, you never know if you really click with someone until you meet in person.
