For me, the best first dates are ones that involve some sort of shared interest - kayaking, yoga, running or some sort of activity where you can be yourself and let your hair down. Dinner or drinks are fine too, but I find that doing something physical can be very disarming and removes some of the barriers that can make meeting people for the first time somewhat awkward. Well, on second thought, maybe yoga is better for a second date!!???
