About Me

I have spent a lot of time staring at this screen trying to figure out the best way to start this...and decided I cannot be witty and cute when I put too much pressure on myself...so taking a deep breath, relaxing and here it goes... My entire family is Mormon, but I do not practice. I moved to VA when I was 18 to be a nanny and never left. I love this area...love that my local news is national news, that 30 minutes in one direction I am in the Nations capital and 30 in the other is wine and horse country.I have never been married and while always wanted children, I don't have any. My mom passed away when I was 8 and she and my dad had 6 kids. My dad remarried and she had 4 kids and then they had 2 together. I have 39 nieces and nephews and 10 greats. They all live closer to the west coast and so I only get to see them once a year and some only every other...the only down side to living out here.I have a dog and she is part if my family. I am a dog vs cat person. (Very allergic to cats)I enjoy getting dressed up and going to a play or show in DC one minute... And tailgating at a sporting event the next.Aside from rap and really really heavy metal, I love most kinds of music.I have a good core group of friends whom most I have known for almost 20 years. They would describe me as funny with a hearty laugh, loyal, honest, big heart, great with kids and occasionally says what other people are thinking (not always a good thing, but you always know where you stand haha).I enjoy my life and the people who are in it...I have been single because I wont settle and I am not afraid of being alone. I am looking to meet new people and hopefully somewhere along the way find someone to be a best friend and lover. First date? Well I could go into all sorts of amazing things that would be fun to do, but realistically, it should be coffee or a drink in a public place...

    I am a woman that enjoys trying new things.     I love the outdoors, and really enjoy hiking. Great exercise and challenge, and some pretty amazing places to see and explore. I also started trying out mountain biking and kayaking this past summer, and really enjoyed both. I like going for drives in the country. I find it peaceful and relaxing. I don't want to live life with regrets, so enjoy trying new things. I think diversity is key to keeping life interesting. I am big into volunteer work and giving back to the community. I enjoy helping others. I also think it's really awesome when someone does something to help someone else, without them knowing that you were the one that did it. Then you know that it was done for the right reasons; not to be seen, but rather true integrity. Though I don't have any right now (I had a dog for 16.5 years, but recently had to put him down), I love animals. I also really like kids, although I don't have any of my own. My favorite book in the Bible is the book of Proverbs. I think it is a great book to live by. So much wisdom. Though I'm not perfect, I try to live my life based on biblical principles. I also believe that it's the little things in life that are the most significant and meaningful. Though there are things that I enjoy doing, when I'm with someone that I care about, it is more about being with that person than just what we are doing. Something interactive so that we can talk and get to know each other while doing it, but yet at the same time it can ease the nervousness of that first meeting
