I enjoy good conversation with a few laughs, reading. I have a good sense of humor. I want what no one admits they want - having someone accept you for you, being me from day one to the last day.

I learned the hard way, if you are reading this, you would like to know that for the last two years, an ex from a relationship turned friendship, who was down on his luck and needed a place to stay, resided in my guest bedroom. Just because he resided in my home and was an ex boyfriend does not mean we were in a romantic relationship. Our relationship was purely platonic. He has recently moved. Although I am an introvert and independent, I am looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. I am not looking for someone exactly like me. I am looking for someone with his own passions and interests. If we share some, fantastic! If we don't, maybe we will, and if not, I will enourage that you continue to live yours' and I'll enjoy hearing you tell me the stories. I need to be able to do the same. I also feel it is extremely import to make time for each other. Therefore being able to communicate openly and honestly is a necessity. It’s not easy but a relationship cannot work without itRegarding communicating, I can text u, u can text me but if you cannot or will not occasionally pickup the phone and talk to me, especially in the beginning, I have to wonder…why not?I live in Summerlin. I have my own business working with animals and am an animal lover. I have a horse (my horse is boarded a bit North, off Ann Rd) parrot, cats and a turtle.I also have great compassion and respect for elderly people. I support animal welfare groups, dementia/Alzheimer's research and suicide prevention.I am young and inquisitive at heart. I love silence (and often require periods of quiet) but I also like loud music. I like rock, punk, alternative, folk, alt country and Johnny Cash. I am a big Cash fan. I like any music and or lyrics that cause a visceral reaction. I don't pay much attention to pop or hip-hop. Disc jockeys (or whatever they are called now) and dance clubs are not my thing. I like graphic art. I am a vegetarian. I eat healthy and live healthy. I like yoga, free weights, hiking and horseback riding. I love to read and I am never without a book. I have an interest in criminal law and history. I like to laugh (just NOT at someone else's expense). I believe in the power of laughter (I crave those deep belly I'm-going-to-pee-my-pants laughs). I am not particularly funny myself but I appreciate a person who can make people laugh. It is my hope that I will be able to spend a good amount of time in the not so distant future traveling. There are many places I would like to see before I leave this world.I like movies that make me think. Independent films, documentaries. My favorite movies are Natural Born Killers, Rosemary's Baby and any Lars von Tier film. I enjoy old horror movies. I became a fan of vampires years ago after I read Dracula and saw the movie Nosferatu (Max Schreck = scariest vampire ever). I would like to explore old comedies. I listen to NPR. I love Ted Talks. I don't watch much television but I love American Horror Story (third season starts ***on FX). I drink and enjoy a glass of wine but I cannot drink more than that. I don’t have an issue if you enjoy more than one drink as long as you do not have a drinking problem.I am a jeans and t-shirt girl. I like boots. Leather jackets. Dresses. When I have time, I like to sew my own clothes. I care about my appearance but I am maybe a bit more private, and dare I say tasteful, then some, when I choose what to wear. I believe in being an individual, in self-expression. I am not thrilled with getting older but I am choosing to try to embrace it. I've had a good life. Not a perfect life. I've loved and lost, I've made mistakes, I've grieved. I am a very caring person. I am not a mean person - even when I should be. I try not to judge. I am looking for someone I can love and who can love me for who I am. Quirks and all. I am looking for a connection. An understanding. Trust. Respect. Someone unique. Open minded. Someone responsible. A bit organic. Artsy, creative, a bit off center. Disheveled. A friend, life partner, lover and yes, soulmate.I am not looking for someone to take care of. You must have a career/job. I do. You must have your own money. I do. You must not live with your mother, out of your car, or god forbid, out of my guest bedroom! You must love animals. You must like to talk. To question and contemplate what you know and what you do not. U can tell a lot about a person by looking at their record (oops, I mean CD) collection and bookshelves. I don’t buy many CD’s anymore.***Theatre is Evil4) Jack White ***How About I Be Me (And You Be You)?- Old Ideas8) Kitten - Cut it Out9) Ondar & Pena - Genghis Blues (Tuvan Throat Singing***Civil Wars - Civil WarsNewest books on my shelves:1) See a Little Light: The Trail or Rage and Melody by Bob Mould (Husker Du***& Sons3 Visitation Street4) The Anatomist: A True Story of Gray's Anatomy5) The Center Can Not Hold6) Unknown Pleasures - Inside Joy Division7) The Good Nurse - A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder8) K2: Life and Death on the Worlds Most Dangerous Mountain9) Bringing Up the Bodies***Cutting for Stone Somewhere public but quite and private enough to talk.

Why is it you can think of things to put down at 3am and then when it comes time to actually write/type it out you draw a complete blank?? Well, I'm actually pretty simple. I don't like drama, don't have time for it either. (I'm Desert Storm era Vet), I've found honesty is the best policy, regardless of what type of relationship your looking for the effort needs to be put forth by both people. I'm somewhat technologically challenged. Communication, trust, honesty and loyalty are very important to me. You need a strong foundation just as a house does before it becomes a home. My family and friends would/will tell you that I'm all of those things (almost to a fault), love to help others in need and make people smile, laugh, have fun, yet be appropriate when the situation warrants to be more serious.I volunteer at the local VA, and quite active in a few other charities. I enjoy cooking, will admit not a grill master, so have at it! I'll do the dishes.Going out is nice too, so is getting a pizza and sitting on the patio, or a improtu picnic. I like to watch most sports both college and pro and will gladly flop on the couch with you or hang out at friends, bar/resturant, attending the event if possible is always good too! I'll cheer for your team if you will support mine (go Bills!), unless they're playing against eachother. (loser has to give the winner a backrub.. sound good?)I like kids (I'm one of 76 grandchildren) I've been known to give someone the shirt off my back.. (ask me) I like tennis but haven't played in a very long time, so I would need a refresher course. I can play putt-putt golf not very well, don't understand golf as whole, but willing to learn. Enjoy bowling, playing cards, and some board games. I'm not good at the newer video games, need practice and to be introduced to them (see above comment about technologically challenged). I'm cuddler/snuggle bug whichever you prefer to call it. I like to hold hands be stting on the couch or walking around somewhere. Something I feel that is pretty sexy is wearing one of my mans shirts, especially if it smells like you. I'm as comfortable dressing up as I am in being in jeans and a t-shirt. I like all the basic/simple things of being romanced, hugged and kissed, a single rose and a passionate kiss can almost say as much as a dozen roses can. Part of being a lady is knowing when to be one and then again knowing when it's alright not to be so much of one.I like to go for walks, window shopping, people watch, go to or rent movies, listening to the rain, visiting friends and family either in town or take a trip. I also like to take naps, read, talk, watch tv, stargaze, go on picnic, jump in the car/truck with no plan and see where it takes us.Having a lazy day at home works too.Lounging around just talking about life, family, thinking of ways to solve the worlds problems, just lying/being together and not having to say anything all. If you'd like to know anything else let me know.....Good luck in your search! I like to keep it simple. Go to a hole in the wall restaurant where we can talk and get to know eachother. If we hit it off, we can go listen to live music somewhere.
