Top 10 worst things about this internet dating thing: (Yes, these are actual experiences–I couldn't make this stuff up! And yeah it's a lot to read...but funny stuff!) Having an ex-boyfriend appear as a potential match. Whoops. Maybe I missed the boat on that one? Haha! Being contacted by men waaaayyyy older than me. Yes, there may be some “play” in my listed age criteria. But there is a limit to that. My record to date is an *** 79 year old. While I admire grandpa’s ability to use the computer, all I have to say is…eww.Wading through photos of Corvettes, Mustangs, Harleys. I’m not materialistic. It really doesn’t matter to me what you drive. In my book, a vehicle is simply a necessity to get you from A to B. Guess I just don’t understand the male fascination with machinery.Men looking for texting/email buddies. You know the scenario. You *** a few times. You exchange numbers and text a little. You might even meet in person. You receive texts/emails from that person (which they initiate) with no clear intent in actually meeting up face-to-face. My apologies, but I gave up on pen-pals in the 6th grade. If you want to go out, let’s do it! Otherwise, let’s not waste each other's time. Requests for topless photos. C'mon, there's a time and a place for me to show you “the girls”. No photos posted. I have to think there’s a reason. If you’re part of the federal witness protection program, I might understand. But probably don’t want to get involved. And if your photos include multiple shots of you with your arm around a woman, please clarify if it's your sister or your ex. Because if it's your ex and you don't want to crop her out of the shot...I gotta wonder if you're over her! Profiles that say things like “I’m looking for a lady who will dress sexy and wear boots for me. But if you don’t wear boots, you can still ***” Dude…save the money you’re spending here. Check craigslist. (For the record, I own 4 pairs of boots…)Guys my age looking for someone ***. Why would you want to get involved with all the drama those girls have to offer? (OK, I actually do know why.) Men who place me firmly on their back burner. "I just met this great girl, but if that doesn't work out can I call you?" Yeah, i'll be right here waiting for you. Because my self-esteem is such that I know I could never aspire to be more than someone's Plan B. Let's face it, there are simply some things in life that are much more fun with another person. (“Spooning” comes to mind.) Oh, meeting for a drink is so cliché...but also such an easy way to see if there's any "spark".
