I think it's great to go and "do" all those great things but I hope to find someone that is around for the every day stuff too and to be around for theirs. I think "doing" something on a first date helps ease the akwardness of trying to think of what to do or say next. A walk or picnic in the park, a walk along the boardwalk at the beach, playing mini-golf, a hike, maybe even the skating rink or something like that. Something simple. I think it's good to have something to do and focus on while getting to know someone new, it gives you a chance to let your guard down and be yourself. Of course, meeting for a drink, coffee, lunch or dinner is simple enough too.
