I have a great job - a wonderful circle of friends and even though I've lived here as long as I have, I can still find new and fun things to do! I would describe myself as fun, sarcastic at times - and passionate about the things I love. I love to laugh. Usually I'm laughing at myself. Some of my favorite things include traveling abroad (I have been to many countries, but there is still so much more to see) I would love to put together a trip to New Zealand or South Africa this year. UPDATE: This is not going so well. The Weather was amazing! I will certainly keep these other plans on the docket for the future.I love to snow ski. Now I can't go one season without getting out to the Rockies. East Coast skiing just doesn't do it for me.I very much enjoy my yoga classes and jogging several times a week. I've recently picked up pilates and it's totally kicking my butt - in a good way. I used to ride horses through college and then professionally, (hunter-jumper) though I seldom have time now. I can still coach and try to squeeze in a lesson and some time in the arena every now and then. Spending time with friends is always important so as to catch up with one another, share life lessons and of course gossip ;) I love wine tasting and trying out new restaurants in the area. I also know how to relax very well and own several cute pairs of pjs that get put to good use on the weekends. Fall is finally upon us and I'm really excited because it's my favorite time of year. I'm dying for the weather to really cool down because I can't wait to break out my sweaters and boots. I much prefer the cold over the hot weather, hence my itch to head up to the mountains and ski. (see para 3).Family is very important to me and I try never to break promises. Friends tell me I'm a great to have around, because I'm very loyal and kind. I'm much more of a relationship person than a dating kind of person. I'm definitely looking for a great relationship - someone who can be a fantastic and loyal friend and partner. My biggest love language is "acts of service," so if you are familiar with the love languages, you probably know what that means ;) I Also enjoy "quality time" and "physical touch." The love languages are important keys to any relationship! What are yours? So what am I looking for? I'm looking for someone that has good values, treats others the way they would want to be treated - and loves God. I don't expect you to be a religious person or go to church every Sunday, but I'm definitely a believer and I would hope that my partner is as well. I grew up Catholic, but I am open and welcoming of all religions. To be truthful, I really only go to church on Christmas and Easter - and maybe Ash Wednesday, (shh, don't tell my mom) but I do love my faith - and I'd like to find someone who cares about theirs as well.MUST LOVE KIDS AND DOGS! I have two dogs, and would definitely love to have a family someday, so if you consider yourself one of those guys that never sees yourself having kids, I'm definitely not the one for you. ...and to sum it up, I'm really just looking for a partner that can be my best friend. Someone who will laugh with me, is not afraid to cry with me - and someone to be vulnerable with. I am a gregarious emergency nurse that loves a thought provoking, and sometimes controversial conversation. I have wonderful parents, fantastic friends, two great cats, and low cholesterol; so I really have everything I need in life, but now it is time to find that extra something that really makes a girl want to get home at the end of the day! I am pretty active outside of work with either CrossFit, running, or the occasional swim. I also like to get out to hole in the wall restaurants; obscure sights, art galleries, or museums; and grabbing a whole milk ristretto latte is almost a daily activity.I have a pretty diverse taste in music, from punk and independent, to big band and swing. Speaking of swing, I started learning how to swing dance almost half a lifetime ago, and it would be cool to pick it back up with the right dance partner. I am here because I am convinced that there are still NICE GUYS with old fashion values of marriage and family. Although, I have NO idea how to meet them :)I want a guy Mama would have approved of and I can't get enough of. Gotta love the river, being outdoors, gym/exercise time is favorable, football games a must and most importanly, accepting of children... I have a 14 year old... and she is my life... I'm the ultimate "sports mom"... and I'm not afraid of concession stand time :). I have a career I adore, but still believe in the little things like a hot dinner on the table at the end of the day (yes, I cook, just about daily),a neat and cozy home (even though I have "fur-babies" that like to challenge that), a lazy breakfast on a weekend morning, and church on Sunday...Let's see... I'm not clingy and codependent, and I ask the same of someone I'm involved with... We are all adults, with responsibilities and commitments... Complimenting not complicating each others lives is key. Making time for each other is also hightly important, compromising and meeting in the middle is mandatory... I've come to love all things southern, but still embrace and enjoy the cultures and experiences of where I come from. I'm not a bar scene kind of girl, some good music at a reputable restaurant suits me just fine.And guys... word of advice on profile pics... Get out of your bathroom, get out of your bed and put your shirt back on... Shirtless pics of muscles make me assume that's all you have to offer... Been there, done that... threw a t-shirt at him (them)... :)
