I've been telling my friends that I'd like to be in about year two of a healthy relationship--when you already know each other and care about each other and have decided your partner's irritating habits aren't the end of the world. If you're a knee-jerk conservative we're probably not going to get along. Ideally I'd like to find someone who, like me, has a rich and full life but would like to make room to share part of it with someone great. I think it's impossible to make a list of "must have" qualities for a potential partner--it's impossible to predict who exactly will make your heart pitter patter. That said, I do find myself drawn to individuals who are thoughtful, curious, and engaged in life, have a multitude of interests (some of which they might share with me), and are comfortable in their own skin.
