Well where to start...most would say I'm independent, witty and a lot of fun to be around. I love a good sense of humuor and I'm pretty easy going. I exercise regularly and I am always interested in learning new things. I moved to Calgary from the east coast just over a year ago. Right now I am fulfilling a dream and have gone back to school to become a nurse. Something I have wanted to do for a long time and decided it was time to go for it. One thing I don't believe in is regrets. You need to at least try. If it doesn't work it's alright but one has to at least try.I love all kinds of different food and love to cook. I love being outdoors. I walk a lot and in winter I skate and have a pair of snowshoes that I wasn't able to get get out last year and hope to this winter. I plan to learn to ski at some point this winter. I tried it once many years ago and really enjoyed it. When living in the east coast they are not as many opportunities for skiing as there are here in the mountains. One of the reasons I choose Calgary for school was that I found that the people here were active both in winter and summer.

If you enjoy life a much as I do, maybe we should see if we enjoy each other. I like to take chances and try new things. I take pleasure in learning new things and learning about myself as well (as much as I know me, I still surprise myself sometimes, ha, ha). I appreciate personal growth and it is important that my match does too. I believe there is something we can learn from almost every situation, but often times people miss out because they are not open to change and growth. I strive to be the best person I can be, and the person I am looking for feels the same. Some would say I'm spontaneous, but I'm not sure. If driving an hour to the next town on a "school night" because someone at work that day told me about a great ice cream shop, then I guess I am! Ha, ha! I'm into salvage hunting and my dream is to have my own upholstery shop since I'm the entrepreneurial type. I like to take old ratty things and beautify them again (dressers, lamps, chairs, etc.). Anything crafty or creative is fun for me, that's a great stress reliever for me, not that I have much stress. I love my job & I am looking for someone who is close with their family also & values spending time with them whenever possible (my extended family has a family reunion every two years and I love that we make the effort to do that). I enjoy Home Depot, so if you know your way around a toolbox, then maybe you're the guy for me. Home renos? Bring them on! I am an active person and am looking for someone who has the same interest in taking care of their body and eating well (while still appreciating the occasional ice cream)! What else - I love to sing and once you get to know me you'll see that I sing a lot, even when I don't realize I'm doing it. My match has to be ok with me singing along to the radio, and appreciates that singing is pretty much mandatory while on road trips (extra points for drowning out the artist)! An evening of karaoke is my idea of a fun night and I enjoy grooving to the music. I would love to find someone who loves to dance, especially if they can't, ha, ha. Who cares what people think, right? I enjoy it when I can be introduced to new artists that I haven't heard of, and rap / heavy metal is the only music I don't listen to (although there's always a first LOL). I love to explore new places - I was going to say who doesn't, but believe it or not, there are those people who are homebodies and get anxiety with the thought of going on a trip. That is definitely not me! I enjoy anything that gets me outdoors - hiking, biking, rowing, road trips & leisurely strolls with great conversation included. I value family and I would like to start a family of my own with that someone special. I've spent a lot of my life focusing on my career and that has made for some amazing opportunities and adventures. But, I'm now at the point where I'd like to focus a bit more on some other areas that will make for a balanced, well-;I'm not about to spend the next 50 years of my life with someone that I'm not going to run into in the hereafter." Ha, ha. Seriously though, I am a Christian and I believe it's important to have similar values in this area. But, I consider one's religion to be a personal thing, so I'm not one of those people that goes around trying to convert every person they meet. I consider myself to be financially responsible and am looking for someone who has similar values in this area. I love to laugh and love to be around others who appreciate this "universal language!" I enjoy spending time with others who take lifes' challenges in stride. I'm a problem-solver who looks at the positive side of things and finding solutions for challenges. There are so many fun things to do in the Okanagan...maybe we can check some of them out together: My idea of a good first date is anything where there's an activity involved, as opposed to just sitting and chatting. For example, a day of hiking with a picnic lunch. I also enjoy movies, so I never say no to a movie evening, but that might be a better for later dates once we know each other better since there would not be much opportunity to talk (unless you are one of those people who talks during the whole movie, ha, ha). Mini Golf is fun too. Or, I've always wanted to go on one of the dinner cruises on the lake. Perhaps volunteering for an event or for organization? I love helping make a difference in the community (which is why most of my jobs have been in the non-profit sector). Basically, I enjoy exploring new places or trying most new things, so I'm open to almost anything really. Anything that gives the opportunity to find out more about each other while doing something active and fun.

I’m new to this thing but I thought I’d give it a go! I am very fun loving and funny with a bit of silly once you break through my shell.
