The way I see it, there is nothing at all wrong with that as long as you have priorities and keep them first! I am very independent. I do tend to say what's on my mind and don't hold very much back. With that being said, I do not have a problem seeing someone who already has kids, as long as he takes care of them. That means being a Dad and not a visitor or "baby sitter". My choice for a first date would be a drink or two somewhere by the beach or a little dive bar. Maybe even just grab some coffee. I don't think dinner is a great idea for a 1st date because, what if you just don't click? You have to sit there until it's over... awkward!
