About me.... well, I'll break it down this way. I'm a single mom to a fantastic 11 year old boy. My son is the absolute coolest thing I have ever done. He's a rambunctious kid who always keeps me on my toes. I'm a certified educator, but at the moment I am a full time graduate student working on my Master's and working as a GRA.Okay, let's try subjects.Hobbies: I love to sing! I sing with a community choral group that performs several times a year and we even do a European tour every 3 years. So, this leads to the next thing I love...TRAVEL! I can't get enough. Between my love of singing and my degree in History, travel isn't always just for fun, but to learn and see places that I have studied and only dreamed about seeing. I have traveled all throughout Europe and look forward to our next tour in the summer of ***. I also read quite a bit, usually before going to sleep at night. I love getting them together and having dinner, sitting around with a bottle (or 2 or 3) of wine and chatting, watching movies and traveling.Education: I graduated from GC&SU with a History degree. I also have an A.S. in Business Administration and a Certification in Secondary Education from UWG. I am currently working on my graduate degree in secondary education:history. I love all things historical and political (with the exception of the current political race amongst Republicans.. I roll my eyes every time I hear about it). I wish the Presidential race didn't make me want to put all of them on a boat and sail them out into the middle of the ocean.Personality: Well, I have many sides, I can be serious when I need to be, but most of the time I'm cracking jokes and sarcastic comments are never far away! I've known a lot of hurt and pain in my life, but I know those who have suffered far worse, and that gives me strength to "keep on keepin' on."Finally, I am always busy, but for the right guy??? I would find the time. So, what am I looking for? A true partner in life. I'm looking for honesty and integrity. I'm looking for someone whose first question isn't, "Is she hot?" I want a guy who understands the need for romance and isn't scared to show it and certainly one who doesn't forget about it. I have so much to give and share, and I want my partner to be willing to share hobbies, even if they aren't exactly their forte. Finally, I'm looking for substance, someone who has something to say, will fight with me when we don't agree (in a good way), hold me when I'm sad, rejoice with me when I'm happy or excited and let ME, be me.     If anyone can get the opening line - bonus points. I have an uncanny memory for random quotes. I love comedy, particularly observational and abstract, foreign films and hard hitting flicks of any kind. I love traveling. I lived in Africa for 3 years. Botswana - managing a safari camp (scariest moment - I'm kind of a wannabe writer - I have about 10 pages of a novel written and no title - good start! I am currently pursuing a career in conflict resolution which I find very rewarding and I do spend a good deal of my time volunteering. I love hanging out with friends over good coffee, better food, and great wine. I also adore my 3 nieces all under 15 months (2 are twins!). I love playing sports (especially softball and volleyball) and enjoy all kinds of music...except country. I'm active and hit the gym, but I'm not obsessive about it. Working out is so I can enjoy a gorge fest at a great restaurant...so I'll leave it at that for now. I do want that someone who is my equal, but also challenges me. I want to sit across from one another and feel that electric pull where nothing is boring, especially the conversation. Where minutes turn into hours in the blink of an eye because stimulation and connection are magnetic. Generally, I like a casual drink at a casual bar. Nothing too fancy, but likely not a complete dive either. Don't get me wrong - I love a good hole in the wall but that's perhaps for the 5th or 6th date if we get that far. A date is not so much about what you're doing or where it's about chemistry - physical, conversational, intellectual. So, good to keep it simple.
