I am a teacher and I am a transplant from colder regions. I am a reader and love to write. I like to play games (both console and board). I love sci-fi and horror, but there's a special place in my heart for campy zombie flicks (Night of the Comet, Ahhhh! Zombies, Shaun of the dead, etc). Dr. Horrible is an earworm on a regular basis. I am hard headed and independent at times, which makes me very difficult to push. And apparently, when I talk about myself, I write in simple sentences. While I am an English teacher, I am one of the least grammar-stubborn of my friends, which causes my friends to look at me and say, "But you're an English teacher." Probably something low-key where we can talk and get to know each other, like coffee or an event. I have found that movies don't seem to be a good first date, because you don't have a chance to talk and people can be very particular with their movie theater etiquette.

Spend a decent amount of time with my family, mainly my sister (her hubs and 2 boys), and I have a standing Saturday date with my feisty 92 year old grandmother.I enjoy traveling and seeing new things. Wish I had more money and time for more adventures. I'm a total book nerd that's constantly reading. Nothing smart or enlightening, but fluff. Languages: I can talk in movie quotes. Granted it's girly movie quotes mainly, but still. There are some movies I have memorized and can subconsciously repeat the whole movie while watching. It can be annoying. I'm also fluent in sarcasm. AND!! I can speak German. I haven't really used it conversationally in 10 years, so it's a bit rough. I try to watch/read things to keep it a little active.I enjoy all sorts of movies. Oldies, 80s, some action, musicals, comedies. However, I tend to not enjoy watching things that are over the top in profanity/vulgarity, yet I tend to talk like a sailor (go figure). I also have a love/hate with horror movies, I'm a jumper and sometimes a screamer.I like a wide range of music from oldies, 80's, alt rock, indie, folk, one hit wonders.I love laughing. My humor tends to be a bit juvenile and dirty at times. I hate clowns, zombies, creepy dolls, snakes, scorpions, spiders, mushrooms and tomatoes.Like most people, I'm a shy extrovert. In new situations it takes me a bit to warm up. Once I'm comfy, I can be very out going.In college I did a testimonial for an informercial! Haha. I never saw it on TV though.
