I'm an independent thinker, an open book communicator, fiercely loyal, honest, high integrity, do what I say, say what I mean woman. I love to adventure and exploration - its one of the best parts of this ride called life!I was raised by a southern mom in a small town, so I have the girlie nesting side to me as well as a strong life foundation. I love being all girl. I was also an only child to a dad who wanted a boy - I had my 1st fishing pole at 3, pony at 5, rifle at 6, golf clubs too. I even bait my own hook:) I live with Diego the Wonder Dog and Hossum the Awesome who are my constant companions. I am honored to be the two- I love anything around the water...skiing, skating, diving, sailing, kayaking and I want to learn to surf....2nd best to being on a horse:) I enjoy any kind of music (except rap), play the piano and love to sing. I golfed to an8 handicap til about 10 years ago, but haven't hit a ball since. So much to do, so little time.I've spent a lot of time going strong running my business (Ran a biz in Europe from CA for 2 years, what was I thinking?) plus traveling all over the world for sport -- if there was diving, skiing, climbing, trekking or flying - I've been there. I love being physical!Which is probably why these days one of my fave things to do is stay home with loved ones and chat about life n the pursuit with a great glass of wine, yummy morsels and music to match the mood. But I'm happy to be out and about ...simply depends on the day and the time...and the company. I have my own business which affords me the flexibility to live and be pretty much anywhere at any time. Yet another blessing! I'm currently forming a non-profit program for kids, locally and on the web, where Maverick and I share stories and more to teach children that we are all Unstoppable! We all have challenges in life - how we choose to respond to those challenges makes us who we are. We're helping kids know they can respond positively and powerfully! Kids need to know that in these days of so much negative fearful programming. I'm here because I want to meet someone to share the wonders of this journey called life. Great if it's for a while, perhaps for a moment. I don't have a shopping list for who that person is. Whether sitting in silence holding hands by a campfire or discussing our deepest heartfelt beliefs or laughing and dancing the night away - we'll know it when we feel it. Someone to walk & talk or hike with would be great!!I'd like someone who is physically and emotionally available, will love me for my mind, not my body but would rather play with my body, not play with my mind. Seems like a pretty simple concept....easy to grasp =). Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation. For every person you meet who has that spark of genius there are thousands more walking around with *** I enjoy the company of someone who has a sense of humor and understands my warped one. ; ). Someone who can laugh at themselves - I don't think anyone should take themselves too seriously.I'm a pretty happy person. That doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It just means that I've decided to look beyond the imperfections. We all have things for which to be grateful. I don't need someone to "complete" me. I look at it as icing on the cake. I'm a huge Bears fan, I prefer a pub to a club, my political views lean more towards the liberal crowd. I like lots of different music, except for rap and really really heavy headbanging metal. I believe everyone should go to a Jimmy Buffett concert at least once, if not more. It's as much fun as a person can have without breaking any laws. Fins up!!! I look forward to finding someone to slow dance with.....I haven't done that in ages. It would be nice. Addendum: Just to save time, I'll add here that I prefer dating non-smokers (kind of a big thing with me). I'm not being b*tchy, just being honest. I prefer meeting single men. Yes I was raised Catholic but I don't attend church anymore. I lean more towards good karma rather than misguided dogma. I believe there is more than one road to the Divine. I haven't had good luck dating people who aren't fairly "local" (actually I haven't had good luck dating at all!! lol) so I tend to avoid that frustration now. when I get these "so and so" wants to meet you, I take it with a grain of salt, someone saying they like my picture. I usually don't respond unless someone actually writes to me. Just an FYI. by the way, I've been transitioning to a more plant based diet. so I won't be going for a steak or a burger on a date. He's my best friend and we walk all the time on the bike path!! He gets me off the couch just like a best friend would do. She died a couple of years ago. but thanks for your interest! Rent the DVD if you want to experience an "older woman". The Graduate is a great movie!POF made me choose a word to describe my personality. I chose hippy but I think it's supposed to be hippie, lol, like... peace signs, getting back to nature, etc. oh well. And, I'm actually 58. I was told (by a male friend) that nobody would see my profile if I put my true age here. Yes, the pictures are fairly recent. So if it's a problem, I guess I won't hear from you. I hate that they required me to "post my intention, i.e. dating or relationship, etc. If you put "dating" it makes you look like a serial dater. if you put "relationship" it makes you look like you're hunting for a spouse. I'm doing neither of those. It would be nice if I meet someone nice but I don't have high hopes. I haven't even been meeting or dating in a while. I have some things that I'm trying to improve about myself. I've worked 12 hour night shifts for the past 5 years and I've put on a few pounds that I'm not happy about so I'm trying to get them off. But then again.... if someone doesn't want me at my worst, they sure as h*ll don't deserve me at my best. ; )
