I've been divorced for several years (over a decade) and my life is in a pretty good place. I don't really have any baggage to speak of unless, you count my cat and my dog lol. If you don't like animals, you probably won't like me. I am Christian by faith that means a lot to me. I think I'm looking for the same thing everyone else on here, is looking for. Isn't that what life is all about? I volunteer for a couple of different charity organizations and i'm on the board of my HOA so my life can be full of meetings at times. Laughter is my favorite emotion (isn't everyone's?) and it's a part of my daily routine. I'm pretty sick of dating, and would like to find that one man to hold my hand through the rest of this crazy life. My ideal man would drive a pickup truck, listen to classic rock and some oldies, enjoy tinkering around the house, hanging out by the water, bbq-ing with friends, enjoy a margarita or a beer from time to time and weekend getaways. He doesn't have to be rich, but he should like what he does. He doesn't smoke and he can hang with me at church on Sunday morning or hold my hand in prayer. As for me? I have more good days than bad, enjoy all the things I just mentioned, and believe that you need to meet someone in person to see if you're compatible. Profiles only give you a glimpse of who someone is. My friends are an important part of my life and sometimes I like to spend the day with the girls. I expect whoever i'm with to be able to entertain himself and, have a hobby that doesn't include me. I think that's how you keep things interesting. I'm not a cheater, a liar or angry at anyone. I don't live in the past, and I understand that life is precious. If you have a profile picture with your shirt off flexing your muscles, we're probably not a match. If you do drugs or drink every day, we're definately not a match. If you're looking for someone to "just date", we're not a match. If you choose your women like you do your toys, keep going. I'm a real woman not a toy. I enjoy being in a relationship and i'm not afraid to love. I hope i'm never so cynical that I think it doesn't exist. Ok, if you're still reading then I think, in spirit of full disclosure, you should know that I have thyroid disease. It's not fatal, it doesn't prevent me from doing anything I want to do, I just take a pill every day like people with high blood pressure do. What it does do, is slow my metabolism, so I have to always stay active. I carry an extra 30lbs more than I used to and i've had to embrace that. Men seem fixated on size, so I can tell you that i'm a ***and that probably won't change. I love hiking and camping and eat a healthy diet (low carb, little gluten). It's how I stay healthy and I am healthy. If you'd like to see if we're a match, please *** first date should be like meeting a new friend. I love to meet new people and learn about their lives. I’ve been accused of knowing someone every place I go. I collect friends,attempt to make people feel at ease and I’m told that I’m easy to talk to. I am a take charge, hard-working professional. I stay busy, am very much a leader and self-confident person. I like to entertain casually but I can throw a formal event if required. I enjoy plays and theater but I can fit any anywhere. In fact, I recently played BINGO with some senior citizens and had a great time. I can have a nice glass of wine, a good bottle of beer, a good cup of coffee or cold glass of water. It doesn’t matter. Road trips are fun but doing things around town are fine too. I don't have to spend money to have fun because I believe happiness comes from within. I have been lots of places but there's lots more to see.My perfect match is someone that enjoys being with me, hanging out with friends and entertaining while sometimes just sitting at home and being alone. That someone should be my best friend, someone that we both provide comfort, laughter, happiness and support to each other. Trust is a must. As well that someone should feel comfortable taking charge while being respectful of my independence and ideas. That someone should also be confident, friendly, easy to talk to, be loyal, reliable and honest. I find being able to laugh "with each other" always helps. I believe the basis a great relationship begins with friendship so we need to have common interests and beliefs. Family should be important because through time we'd extend our time to include our families with each other.Because I do enjoy making friends, I am not opposed to hanging out and I am always open to making new friends. However, ideally what's been missing in my life is my one true love and soul-mate. Call me a hopeless romantic but I do believe that true love exists and there's a difference between good friends and that soul mate. Is that called passion? I'm pretty flexible but it would be a place where we could spend quiet time getting to talk with each other but an activity to break the ice.....walking at a park, picnic, etc is always nice.
