Thank-you for stopping by to read my profile!Things I like to do include playing guitar, listening to music, cooking dinner for and with someone special, going for a walk in one of the many regional forest trails local to me, pubs, movies, live entertainment etc...love reading, used bookstores, walks, bike rides, cooking and trying new recipes. For some reason I enjoy both food and Christmas shopping lol. Love trips to Ikea and ‘home’ stores. I have recently taken up golf again after 30 yrs and am trying to figure the game out and steadily improving. Tiger should be fearful. I find that Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and random weekends are great times to cook and hang together, and I look forward to the next occasion coming along! Family and kids are so important.I value honesty, integrity, loyalty, calmness in my partner and tend to be attracted to assertive, confident women. I want to find someone whom is of similar values to me and who is local to where I live, within maybe an hour or so. Phone calls, texts and *** help to bridge the times when you can't be together in person... Not to mention the required 'self-time'. I have a strong sense of wanting to nurture and build a relationship slowly. Enjoying time with and learning about a new friend is exciting, so who wants to rush that :) I think I am a bit 'old school' - I like giving flowers, opening doors, pulling out your chair, making sure you are taken care of.Of course I do the required house maintenance and repairs etc. although I am of a mind to pay the ‘guy’ these days as there are not enough hrs in the day.     I am looking forward to meeting a female companion that, first of all, I can call my "best friend" before anything else, and who, among other things, would enjoy sharing outdoor fun activities, as well as social functions, and, of course, last but not least, romance and love, as a couple. I believe that the simple things in life can give us the most pleasure. For example, a simple walk and talk holding hands can mean a lot. When out ATVing one time in early Spring, I came across two abandoned 3 week old kittens on a railbed, that were freezing to death - brought them home, took them to the vet, nursed them back to health, and now they are healthy and playful brother and sister kittens. I never thought I would end up with two kittens, I was always a dog lover, but they are cute, fun to watch play together, and good company. I also like the finer things in life like theatre, fine dining, and attending various organized social events. Overall, I hope to find someone that is down to earth, healthy, and has a good personality so that we can compliment each other. I have been told that I don't look my age as you would see if you met me, and people have guessed my age to be in the forties, I consider myself an average looker, I am in good health (take no meds or pills), active, a non-smoker, social drinker if at all, never did drugs, and no tatoos. So, if you share some of my thoughts and think we may have some compatibility, I would be happy to hear from you! For the first date, I think simple is best - go for a coffee, or sit in a quiet restaurant and talk - no pressures - however I think this is something that really should be decided together.
