About Me
I left the tallest mountains on the East Coast a while ago to further my career. After several years of frustration and relative inactivity, things have really taken off. I manage a great team in analysis and visualization.I like exploring the area. (Is this where I say, "I enjoy the city and all it has to offer?" That seems to be a very popular statement here...each city seems to have its own cliches....) Love art, local music, old buildings, old books. Camping, hiking. I also like evenings where I just sit on my balcony and play guitar. Prefer local, non-commercial activities when possible--local restaurants, not mega-chains-- I love to travel. I've just returned (January, ***from a winter trip to Austria to visit family and take in some ski racing. As a classical music fan, I enjoyed being able to wish Mozart a happy 257th birthday while changing trains in his home town. Now planning my next adventure. I have a grown daughter who enjoys travel as much as I do!Have (re)discovered running in middle age. And running injuries. After almost two years of ankle injuries I've just gotten back into the swing of things with my first two 5ks, and plan on running several other 5ks this year! Going to attack running like most other things....full steam ahead (I prefer to think of that as gusto, not stubborn-ness....)Looking for someone to share the exploration and discovery. Looking to develop something that becomes long-term--however that seems to happen in this crazy world of middle-aged dating (I can understand middle school being crazy, but middle age? c'mon!).Seeking someone who's successful (and that's defined in many, many ways, not merely financial), professional and independent, and also looking for that certain connection, that spark. I still believe in the idea of a soulmate, and I think that others do, as well. Of course, I also want to have a good time in this whole process and not be so serious, and act like it's a.....well....process!Above all, I try not to take work and life too seriously....after all, I'm doing one of these profiles aren't I??? A good first date is one where we can sit and have a good conversation, yet have a memorable time as well. A great restaurant or coffee shop, a good bookstore, a museum, or a park with a great view are all possibilities. Ideally, it should be something unique to the two people who are meeting.
