Movies are not ideal as first dates because you don't have the opportunity to talk, and a very fancy restaurant also makes you feel you are under the spotlight (table manners, what to order etc.) It should not involve going out of town, a major dressy social event, meeting family members, or spending exorbitant amounts of money.
