Here are a few things about me: I'm pretty shy at first and a bit old fashioned, these two things combined make it very unlikely that I will make first contact. I believe that honesty is a must, once trust is compromised, it's almost impossible to restore. I think that anyone who says, “Looks don’t matter”, is lying. Everyone has their own idea of what they find attractive, and no one is ever going to walk up to a person they find completely unattractive and try to get to know them. I also think that being ugly on the inside can make you unattractive on the outside pretty quickly, no matter how cute or hot you are from afar. I think that strength and independence in women, and tenderness and sensitivity in men, should be cultivated. I love a good debate, and consider myself well versed enough in most social subjects to be a good verbal sparring partner. A good sense of humor is a must. I, myself, have more of a dry wit. I am originally from the LA area but love it here. I have spent most of my adulthood building a stable home life for my kids. Now that they are grown, it's time for me to have some fun. Although my profile says I don't want children, it doesn't mean that I don't like children or that you can't have any. I own my own home and enjoy working in the yard when the weather is nice. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do but have to admit that I'm not real excited about the cleanup afterward. I love watching horror movies, going to comedy clubs, and concerts. I like most types of music except for Country and Jazz. I am strong when I need to be but prefer to show my softer side. I'm not interested in meeting someone that over indulges in alcohol. Please don't contact me if you do ANY drugs, it's not my thing. My favorite sport is hockey but I will also watch football. I enjoy other sports if I can be there live. I love a reason to dress up because I do not get to very often, but am just as happy in jeans and a t-shirt. "I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you."— Friedrich Nietzsche...I think that this pretty much says it all. One last thing, texting and e-mail are ok for initial contact or a quick question/statement but anything beyond that is just asking for trouble. There is way too much room for misunderstanding during text and/or e-mail. Pen pals are for inmates, and since I’m not one and hopefully neither are you, let’s not try to carry on full conversations by e-mail or text. I think a first meeting should be limited to an hour long. If there is a mutual attraction, then it gives us both something to look forward to, but if not, then no one has to sit there thinking of a polite way to bow out early. Coffee or a drink, something simple.
