Being around the water is truly a dream come true for me. I love sailing and kayaking and all of the other activities that I can enjoy in/on the water. It is beautiful!I have been divorced for some time now and the unwanted baggage is very minimal. My children and family are my most valued treasures. As my children are getting older and more independent, I now find time to explore and enjoy "me" again! I try to live each day to it's fullest and keep an open mind to all new things. I stay very active and involved with many groups and activities. On a daily basis I am very health conscience and keep physically fit. I have a great passion for the outdoors, animals and wildlife... from the ocean to the mountains. I currently volunteer as a foster family to an animal rescue group and find that very rewarding.I do enjoy some sports..although I'd much rather be on my feet at a game rather than watching it on TV. During the Spring/Summer/Fall months you can find me in W Pa exploring the beautiful mountains and rivers or down at Assateaque beach taking in the peace and tranquility. Hiking, biking, camping, and kayaking are also great ways to enjoy outside time TOGETHER. My interest in music range from one end of the spectrum to the other...from country to jazz/blues to classical. Listening to local live music is one of my great passions. My other interests are very multifaceted, I can feel very comfortable in jeans and hiking boots during the day and come home and change into evening attire for the theater. Some of my hobbies include cooking, gardening, antiquing and horseback riding. Home projects are always in the makings at my house, a regular on going thing, which I enjoy!On a cultural note, I do have interest in the theater, museums, concerts and traveling. My favorite magazine is the Washingtonian and I'm always looking for a new restaurant or event to try. Art, music and wine festivals are also great ways to spend a relaxing afternoon. Good music, good food and a great bottle of wine...What more could you ask for? ...Only a blanket and someone special to share it with! But, my first pick would have to be a nice bottle of wine, chocolate, a roaring fire, and that special someone! *Just a FYI.. I am not a serial dater and I prefer to pursue one interest at a time. If I make a connection with someone that person has my full attention. That being said, I am happiest with a man who shares the same ideas about dating and relationships.If you are content living the single lifestyle and concentrate on being the professional dater we probably would not be a good match....On a more positive note, I am looking for a very special person whos characteristics should reflect ones of compassion, loyalty and above all, HONESTY. Someone who has a true devotion to family and shares my own sense of values and priorities. I am searching for someone who is intelligent, levelheaded and grounded, but at the same time is fun loving, sensitive, and kindhearted. I am looking for a true partner who is willing to SHARE and COMMUNICATE about everyday life as well as his life's ambitions and dreams. I think to feel most comfortable together we would both have to share a great compassion for the outdoors and tremendous energy for life and the daily adventures that surround us! I'm not really comfortable talking about myself, but I've been told I have to on here, so here goes. . . I'm sweet, caring, thoughtful and understanding,(so I've been told), and have a good sense of humor but can also be sarcastic at times. Oh yeah, I'm extremely honest, too - sometimes to a fault. ;) And BTW - when I truly love someone I give 110%. That's the good stuff. I'm in no way perfect, though. Can't really tell you the negative, different people bring out different quirks in me. Just gotta get to know me and decide for yourself if the good outweighs the quirks. (Gotta be honest. lol) I love to sing and I sing in and choreograph for a local community choir. I'm very active in community theater, (musicals, both on stage and off) and also in my church. I like almost all kinds of music - except rap and old-school, twangy country - and I can even tolerate some of that for a little while, lol - just don't choose to listen to it on my own. I like going to live concerts, but snuggling and drinking wine with a good CD works too. I also love to laugh and joke around, even at my own expense sometimes, and I really enjoy a good comedy show. I have two teenagers and two cats. Gotta be upfront - my kids are extremely important to me. Taking care of them is my top priority. That doesn't mean that whoever I'm with is any less important to me - just have to make sure my kids are ok and taken care of before myself. (I have shared custody and they're with me 3 or 4 days every week.) As far as relaxing, I read, go to the beach when I can, and I like to play board and card games (my friends and I usually have a game night once a month).- especially musicals, and on occassion I may even pay the ridiculous prices to go to the movies for a new comedy or action film *** waiting till it comes out on cable. LOL There are many more things I enjoy, but if I write them all here, what would I have to talk about when we get to know each other? ;) I'm looking for someone who makes me comfortable enough to just be myself -no matter what mood I'm in - and who can also be himself with me - no matter what. Noone should have to change for anyone else. Someone I can laugh with, have fun with, and just experience life with. Someone who makes me forget about the rest of the world when we are together. We should share some of the same interests, but also have our own, separate interests, that we can share and introduce to each other. OK - I'll admit it - I want to be swept off my feet and feel like I've never felt before. It's not how you look, but how you make me feel when we're together. Simply put, I'm looking for my soulmate . . .and YES. . .I KNOW and BELIEVE he exists.Could that person be you? If I haven't scared you off, (I realized I managed to write more than I thought I could) and you think you might be, I'd love to hear from you. Hello,Not sure I have anything that makes me unique, I'm just like everyone else. I work Monday - Friday, live with my dog, spend too much time sitting in front of the computer. Wow, are those tough questions to answer! But, thought I'd try to tackle them...1) He would need to be about ***. I'd look for someone taller than 5' 7";. As far as the hair, well he could have long hair, short hair, or no hair, that doesn't really matter to me. Red, black, brown or blonde hair, short/long/none does not the man make. Weight, well, again, not a huge issue to me as long as it is a healthy, proportionate weight. People come in many shapes/sizes and again, weight does not the man make. I'm not so into tattoos, but I don't hate them either. A few would not be a "deal breaker". Facial hair -- not so into full beards, but goatees are cool, mustaches (maintained) are good, and clean shaven works too!!!2) The important part is how he acts.... so, to keep it simple, here are some thoughts on that..... HONEST, trustworthy, funny, sarcastic, adventurous, supportive, kind, and a little quirky are all some things that I look at. I want someone who is okay with who he is and will be okay with who I am.And finally, as my profile states -- I am a smoker, if this bothers you, don't write and tell me that if I quit, you'll date me, cause I won't and you can't!!Blessed be and have a great day!
