About Me

I'm just me. :) I am a full-time student and newly single mom to an amazingly bright 9-year old who is my world. I have been out of the dating loop for a long while and am kind of new to this, so I'm a little unsure about what to say here. But, I'm a quick learner. ;)After working in the service industry for ***years (because that is just what I've always done and what I know), I am now back in college and working towards getting a teaching degree with the hopes of eventually teaching middle school or high school History. I am a bit of a nerd at heart (okay... maybe a lot a bit... lol)... I am always reading or looking up new things trying to expand my base of useless knowledge. :)I love all kinds of music, but tend to steer clear of newer country or hardcore rap. I love discovering new music and going to concerts. I love movies of all kinds. I love reading (when I have time or can stay awake... LOL), especially historical fiction. See? Kind of geeky, but I like to think it's just part of my charm. ;)I cannot STAND games or players... be straightforward. I'm a big girl, I can take it. ;)I am opinionated, but open minded and tolerant. I am headstrong, but also capable of listening to reason. I am quirky and accepting of others quirks. Yes... I have very short hair, and no, I won't consider growing it out... it suits me. ;) I am straight-forward and honest, and expect the same from others.I am an open book... ask me anything and I'll give you an honest answer. I prefer a good beer over wine. I prefer watching a good movie over Nascar. I can have a conversation with anyone (I've never met a stranger... ), but can get a little shy when the conversation is focused on me (I blush easily). I know I may not be everybody's cup of tea, but that's fine by me... I don't even like tea. ;)What am looking for? Kindness, a killer sense of humor, confidence, HONESTY, good conversation, wit, intelligence, respectfulness, shared interests, individuality, an infectious laugh, a great smile, wicked chemistry and *butterflies*. :) Also, the choices given for what my "intent" may be are way too generic... I am looking to get to know someone and see where it goes. I'm not anti-relationship; I just don't want to jump into anything, but rather ease into it. In other words, no ***, just add me and I'm not just cruising this site for hook-up's. There's a middle ground, right? :)**Just as an aside to see who actually reads this, I don't really understand the whole "Meet Me" feature on here...;So and So wants to meet you"... it just seems less impersonal. :)Also, as I said, I am not looking for just a hook-up or a fling.     I haven't had any luck on this site so far but I'm a glutton for punishment and keep hoping I still might find that needle in the haystack!After moving to Calgary 2. This doesn't mean you need to have a six pack because I sure don't have one...just not a kegger! :I could list all the other things I'm looking for, but it really comes down to chemistry! Just because someone looks good ‘on paper’ doesn't necessarily translate to reality. So if there is any initial interest I'd rather meet in person sooner than later to see if there is any chemistry.     I am very independent and have a happy life. I love spending as much time as I can with my lil one and as I have her 100% of the time, I would need someone who understands what that means.
