I started listening to blues and jazz a few years ago and really like Madelaine Peroux.Unfortunately I'm allergic to cats and dogs and it seems most of the single men on here have one or both. I've been an empty nester for over 3 years and really enjoying my space, peace, and quiet. Actually surprised how many men in their 40's on this site who have young children. I like a first date to be simple, and somewhere relatively quiet, so we can talk and get to know each other. So coffee/tea/drinks would be my 1st choice. If there's chemistry perhaps go out for a nice dinner then maybe a couple games of pool.
