About Me

I would describe myself as a kind, passionate, and unique person who is very down to earth and practical. I used to be a hippie in my previous life, but now living a pretty settled life. I am easy going but serious when I need to be. I love being silly with my daughter and have a pretty good sense of humor. I live life with passion and enjoy artistic expression. Lived in several states; moved around for college and teaching. Originally from the South. I am passionate about music and love to sing and can play guitar a little. This is challenging when trying to meet someone. Traveling and visiting beautiful places, especially in nature, is appealing to me. I have two daughters whom I love with all my heart: one is 22 and one is 3.I enjoy meaningful conversations and connections with people. I am looking for someone who is genuine, has a caring heart, enjoys a good conversation, and the little pleasures in life. Someone who likes to explore and expand their horizons is a plus also. It would be nice to get to know someone and get together for a movie, concert, or dinner. For books, I do a great deal of academic reading, which I know most people would find boring. I also like the Dalai Lama's work including The Art of Happiness, Ishamel, books on past lives, books by Chuck Klosterman, especially Killing Yourself to Live, Wild by Cheryl Strayed, etc. I read mostly non-fiction, especially biographies. Currently, I am reading the book, Outliers. I love, love movies! Classics include Shawshank Redemption, I am Sam, The Outsiders, Dead Man Walking, Into the Wild, Do the Right Thing, and so many more. As far as music, I love a whole range of artists. Blige, Adele, etc. I really love 90s alternative. What can I say, I am a GenXer. It would be nice to get to know someone and get together for a movie, concert, or dinner. For a first meeting, I think something casual like a bookstore or coffee shop is best.

    I am well rounded, so it's not easy to describe myself. I have an odd set of hobbies which include watching about 40 minutes of TV nightly, reading the news every night on my Droid, and playing mmorpg's - I used to play WoW, Aion, Rift, Swtor...and am presently playing Tera...we shall see.I've had a history of being really good at achieving my goals. I've wanted to be a teacher since I was 3 years old - and I've been teaching for 9 years. In Junior High, I became very competitive with my grades. I wanted to be at the top of my class. I ended up graduating 2nd out of 352. I wanted to get married. I was married for almost 5 years. That's where my goals got thrown off track. I never wanted to get divorced - and don't want to ever do THAT again, so I tend to move slowly...lol. I had wanted to have 3 children...I have 2 children. At this age, I'm not really sure that another child is an adventure that I would want to embark upon, but if I met a great guy who wanted more children, I'm sure I'd be fine with that. Lately, my goals and aspirations have taken a turn towards things like...wanting to go on vacation with my children and creating a list of places I'd like to see.Friends tell me that I'm young at heart. I love messing around with technology. I know how to be serious, but I prefer to joke around. I'm not the chick who plays practical jokes; I'm the one who listens to conversation and tosses out witty remarks that cause others to laugh. I love seeing people smile. I'm not judgemental. I value honesty and competency. I love 80s music. I also listen to country, christian, and rock. I don't really get into rap - a lot of the music/content offends me.
