Dating seems so complex sometimes. The focus on sex makes me long for a good book or romantic movie to curl up with at the end of the day ***'t get me wrong...I do enjoy sex. I'm not a prude in any sense of the word. But I'm looking for something more.So as I write this I wonder if my old fashioned romantic exists. If he did, then he wouldn't be perfect, but he would be perfect for me. My ideal match would be a single, honest romantic with a smile that makes me melt and eyes that I can get lost in as we talk. He would be a mature and intelligent man who is independent but not afraid of letting others in. Friends and family are close to his heart and never far from his mind. He would want the woman he is with to be a friend first and always. My match would know how to communicate well and be willing to always talk things through. His caring heart would make me feel safe in his arms and melt from his kisses. I would always find myself pleasantly surprised by his spontaneity and romantic touches on our dates and in between. I'd have those moments where I would wonder if he had someone writing a script for him like in a movie sequence because it would feel so perfect. He wouldn't fear commitment or be interested in playing games unless he was trying to beat me at Monopoly. Seeing me would mean so much to him that he would take the time to plan something special to do or somewhere fun to go for our dates. And like I said in the beginning he'd be an old fashioned guy who knows how to treat a woman.I am definitely unique with many facets to my personality. I am professional at work and crazy/fun with my friends. I can be the life of the party or the shy one in the corner. I am a dreamer and a romantic, realistic and grounded, always open and honest. I love helping others...spiritual in nature. I'm a strong believer that in life you need to stay relaxed, stay mellow, stay loose and be open to whatever happens. I am passionate in many areas of my life, like with my job. I love my job but it isn't my entire life. I am stubborn at times and relentless when it comes to some things. I don't give up sometimes even when it seems I should.I am a driven independent woman who knows what she wants in life. I am comfortable with who I am and who I have become in life. Currently I am working for a non-profit doing program coordination and administrative assistant duties. I find my job very rewarding and enjoy the work that I am doing. Once you get to know me and get me started in conversation, I love to talk about my job. I don't allow it to totally consume me as a person though.In my spare time I enjoy catching a good movie, listening to music, reading, writing, you know...the normal kinds of things. I also like random road trips, learning new things and meeting new people. I also like to volunteer, especially when the opportunity really fits me. I'm a good cook and love to try new recipes. And spending time with family and friends is always high on my priority list. This is by no means a complete list and in no particular order... I occasionally listen to chunks of top 40 music until I get really tired of the repetitive nature of things. OH...and don't judge me...but during the holiday season I listen to a lot of Christmas music.Im also a bit of a movie junkie at times. The first one is my favorite and the rest are not in any particular order but are a few that I really like.... I'm a caring, romantic, down-to-earth woman, always treating people with respect and honesty. I believe in communication and would like to find someone who loves to talk about anything and everything. I'm a modern gal but I long to meet someone who is old fashioned and romantic. I know it's a rarity, if it exists at all, but it's something I long to find. I think of first dates in a drastically different way than most people. For an ideal first date I would love it if we both planned part of it. Each of us would pick an activity that highlighted a piece of our personality. It's a great way to add variety to a date and a fun way to get to know each other. The typical dinner and a movie is so boring and overdone. I'd much rather dive right in and get to know someone's true interests, a piece of who they are.It also eliminates all of the ridiculous nervous feelings that can come with meeting someone new. By each of us being in our comfort zone, partially, it can help us immediately be ourselves...no pretensions.
