About Me

First off, I whole-heartedly believe in the two following quotes:"I believe things happen for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually start to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." "It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not."That being said, here's some random things about me, like it or leave it. Hopefully you'll like it though, at least enough to want to get to know me better, because I'd love to share my world with somebody else. My favorite thing in life is to laugh. I graduated with a degree in Psychological and Brain Sciences. If you're sick and you come within a mile of me I'll probably catch what you have. I'm sarcastic, but I usually don't mean to be rude. I say "I know, right?" and "Oh my god" way too much. I hate *** and I hate fennel. I am referred to as TeeTee by my 3 year old nephew on a regular basis and love it. I watch TV like it's my job. I've been writing poetry since I was 8 and have been published 3 times. I worry way too much; it can't be healthy. I love to take pictures. If I'm in the car and I know the song on the radio you can pretty much count on the fact that I'll be singing along, no matter who is with me. I am a diehard Cubs fan and I also love Da Bears - I'm not a fake fan who knows nothing about the team I say I love. I had to have knee surgery from playing a game of whiffleball... classic. While I believe in my intelligence and skills, I sometimes don't attempt great things because I'm too afraid of failure - I'm working on that. I want to be more spontaneous. I probably have the worst vision of anyone you know. My biggest fear in the world is someone I love dying. I'm also oddly terrified of birds and car washes. I try to laugh things off as much as I can, and when life seems ridiculous, I live by the motto, "it could be worse" because it really always can be. So there it is. A list of random facts. Some a little silly, some not so much. Which I guess kind of describes me, and I'd say I'm looking for a guy who's pretty much the same way. A sense of humor and the ability to keep me laughing combined with a serious, sensitive side when needed and I'd probably melt into your arms.

    Hey, I'm Jess...I'm a full-time student working towards an elementary teaching degree. I've got one semester of classes left until I student-teach next winter, so I'm staying busy. I'm your typical poor college student who still lives with her parents. (Cue the boos from the audience...)I'm a shy girl, but if I'm around the right crowd I get over it. Random funny or cutesy text messages WILL make my day.I like watching sports -....but a big part of hanging out with family and watching the games is hosting. I love to entertain and make people happy.As for the guy who catches my eye...If you get me laughing, you've got my attention. I'm attracted to wit and a great sense of humor to bring out my own. A guy who is family-oriented and has his goals set is important to me. Someone who has morals and manners high on his list of attributes is something to be proud of. A great gentleman is hard to find these days!Someone who embraces an open mind is attractive to me. Superficiality trumps every positive trait. Case in point: I'm a curvy girl and some of my best friends lead an "alternative" lifestyle. You either get it or you don't. My intention is not to drive you away from this profile by being mean - on the contrary. This little paragraph may slim down my chances of a response, but I'll take those chances. I don't want to waste anyone's time and I don't want my time to be wasted. I know who I am and what I want and I hope you do too.Bonus if he's got a bit of a wild child in him; I've got a few tattoos and I know that can be a deal breaker for some. I see it as art and want more. As for me, a deal breaker would be a guy who smokes anything but the occasional cig or me in a game of pool. I'm a drug-free zone. First dates can be tricky.
