Upon meeting a man for the first time, I can usually tell whether he is someone I want to see again or not. The way we act and speak gives off volumes of information. I am an old-fashioned, conservative person who believes in God. My marriage lasted 14 yrs. and I was faithful until my husband lost his life. I am not looking for someone to replace my husband, but am looking for someone to go out with occasionally, be a friend to, and maybe have a dating relationship if all goes well. Eventually I will want to marry again but not anytime soon, unless you knock my socks off. Honesty is key, even if it hurts. It is better to know the truth than to believe a lie. You need to be yourself, have a strong work ethic, be down to earth, and have compassion. I teach library classes in a local elementary school. Most folks have a vision of librarians wearing horn-rimmed glasses, hair in a bun, wearing ugly shoes and shushing people. I don't have much tolerance for country or rap.Sadly, outside of work, there isn't an opportunity to go out much. I am a working mom who is raising teenagers and feel like I am a taxi driver. I value staying home but need adult company. Drinking and partying does not appeal to me. I prefer to hang out with friends in small groups rather than in large groups. Someplace public like a coffee house or cafe is a good first date. That way we don't feel awkward for too long if there isn't chemistry. I prefer to pay for myself the first time.
