Sign of the times that we have this new way of making contact with others who have the same goals. I'm new to it but open and optimistic that it is possible to meet someone??!! I have been on my own for several years now and have made some big changes to embrace my new life. Having always been a "beach girl" at heart, living in Silicon Valley for many years always felt somewhat stifling. Last month I moved to one of the beautiful SoCal beach cities! I am really looking forward to getting settled in and find my way around. I have four beautiful, crazy, funny, unique kids that keep my life from ever being dull and boring. I must warn anyone reading this, only one is out of the nest. Fortunately, I have a great co-parenting situation so I am NOT looking for a father for them and I DO have some free time! Free time, I am creative and love to paint, design, collect things. I am passionate about houses. Specifically old houses and have had the good fortune to renovate multiple old homes. I love the entire process from finding the perfect project through all the stages until a wonderful home is completed. I love being physically active. Run, walk, hike, yoga, dance. I am going to get a pair of rollerblades ASAP for use on the Strand. As for a profession, I was a nurse but it has been many years since I have practiced. I miss it and might think of a way to get back into the field at some point. The adrenaline junkie in me misses the intensity of a busy ICU. what else?! Guess I should mention that I have no sense of humor what so ever. I am never entertained by the absurd and unique oddities of life. I like my men boring as a rock. If you are the type that would make me laugh, like the kind of laughing that would make you snort, forget it. And teasing, kidding and being playful is definitely out. What good is any of that? Intelligence and being very physical, also very low priority on my bucket list. Hmmm Oh my gosh, I am adding this last sentence because someone actually thought I was serious about my previous paragraph and compared me to their ex! Seriously!?

I have read some that have inspired me and helped me realize that it is brave to be so personal in such a public place. So here goes, I have a history that's not all good and perfect. But I'm not in therapy even though I have been divorced twice. Also, I don't do drugs and never have. I am proud to say that I have two boys ***and 11. And YES, they are mine thanks to God's promises and blessings, which are more than I will ever deserve! So if you are still reading, then maybe there's a chance.I am trusting and tolerant of imperfections, but I am not a door mat. I will expect respect at all times, I love to laugh, even if at myself. I find ways to stay active and in shape and am always busy. I cherish the down times too. Also I look stinking good for my age, from head to toe. And yes, I do just put it out there, some of the time. Not always. I am an army brat who grew up in many countries and value learning about people from different cultures and traditions. I am open minded and give people the benefit of the doubt, maybe too much. I was raised by an officer who taught respect is shown at all times and courtesy is a given. My parents and grandparents taught me many life lessons which are still a part of me. I am a Christian, meaning that God is a part of my life and who I look to for guidance and encouragement. He put me here to bring Him the glory, and He deserves that and more for all that He has done for me.I want a man who is strong in who he is, but doesn't take life too seriously that he can't enjoy the fun in the everyday. I want a man who can stand up for what is right, even when it's not popular to do so. A man who knows how to treat a lady without having to be told or taught. The joy of finding new friends is nice, and I don't begrudge that one bit, but really, there's nothing like the feeling of a deep love that you know is real. And it just takes one, the one willing to give a girl a chance. It really depends. I would gladly show up in my jeans and cowboy boots just as much as my black dress and pearls. But really, my goal is to be comfortable, to be able to chat and enjoy where we choose to go. So, I'm game and no, not hard to please...
