About Me

Hi there. Thanks for viewing my profile. About me: I am an upbeat person, fun loving and in possession of a good sense of humor. Sometimes I can be a little loud, but hey, I'm an Italian girl, and that's the way we roll.Creative and artistic, I enjoy painting, sewing and crafting. I spend a lot of time working in my craft room. This gives my partner time to do his “Man” things I believe in giving people space to be on their own or do things with their kids, family and friends without me tagging along.I am independent, and definitely not the clingy type. I have a full time job, a car, and my own home.I am not into snowmobiling, Nascar, wrestling, hunting, but it's ok if you do all that, I can stay home and do my crafts. I do like to watch Duck Dynasty, they are so comical.I have been going to Planet Fitness, and try to go at least 3 times a week. It would be great if I could find some who would go with me sometimes. I need motivation, and someone to push me to get into better shape. If you are a tennis player, that is even more terrific. Love to play. My skill is intermediate.I am looking for a guy who is open minded and not a stuff shirt. Someone who likes to go out once in a while to a movie, or dancing or just sight seeing or local events. Must be active and not a couch potato. You don't have to be Mr. America, just someone who likes walking, cycling, or tennis. Oh, yeah, you must like cats, as I have 3. Coffee or drinks for conversation, to get to know each other a little better. Maybe a walk if it is a nice day.

First and foremost, I love to laugh. I have a sense of humor and very much enjoy people who do as well, or at least know how to laugh at themselves and life in general, otherwise it would all be overwhelming at times. I can take care of myself, but would enjoy sharing lots of my life with someone who got me. I am easy going and fun loving and enjoy meeting people, I work hard, and love my job, but I enjoy playing even more. While I love to be outdoors, especially near or in water, I am not a health/exercise nut, maybe someday, but not today. I love watching movies, reading a good book, which is often my escape from reality, going out, dancing, and getting together with friends old and new, playing games and just enjoying the company of others.I'd love to meet a guy that is secure in who he is, "know thyself" and not looking for a mother, but ***, a friend, a lover, a partner, to not just spend time with but who enhances the time spent together; a person that knows what they want, has goals, not a project himself, nor do I want be someone else's project to be changed, I'd rather grow together. A first date in my opinion, needs to have enough space to be able to actually talk and get to know each other, while at the same time doing something that can enhance conversation without hindering it. Maybe going for a picnic at a great place, or an evening that included a meal or a quaint pub where you could still talk without the music being overpowering.

I subscribe to a "Think deeply, speak gently, love much, laugh a lot, word hard, give freely and be kind" way of living, where integrity, honesty, trust, laughter and kindness frame my picture of love, life, levity, and everything that is boldly colored in between. I believe that "coloring outside the lines" promotes greater self-discovery and risk, both of which are extremely important and yes, attractive, sexy and desirable, to me as a writer, educator and most importantly, a parent. When we restrict ourselves to a neatly designed and prescribed, flawless template of how we're supposed to look and behave, we inevitably are not being our authentic selves. For me, to embark on a relationship not being who we are is inevitably destined to fail because in the end, it's based on pretense and falsehood***not the ideal foundation for a loving, lasting relationship. My mission as a special educator is to individualize *** broken and bitter high school kids who have been through serious and often, life threatening traumas in their lives, where school took a back burner to just making it through the day. Our mission as loving and caring educators is to restore their faith in "man/womankind," and convince them how much they matter~~ despite their belief to the contrary~~ to themselves, and the people in their lives who love them. When I'm not trying to make the lives of these kids better, I love to hike, power walk, play with my dogs for hours, blog, read, and sip ridiculously good coffee with ridiculously awesome people. I find intellect extremely attractive .I also believe that you can tell whether a relationship is going to work with one kiss. So much can be said in that one kiss..... I have no set script for a first date other than it happens after some thoughtful, meaningful, and yes, flirtatious conversations, via phone, text, etc., that creates a very welcome flurry of butterflies in my stomach that lets me know that we won't be checking our watches every four minutes once we take the plunge and meet. Outdoor cafes; out-of-the-way coffee shops that at least 'offers' Fair Trade coffee with their other selections; independent book stores; beautiful parks conducive for walking and talking; and if all of that feels right, an "evening" date at a candle-lit pub or wine bar that offers tasty crudites and atmosphere.
