I love life and people. I am a most positive person who loves laughing everydayand am enjoying a retired life after working with high schoolers for over 30 years.Nature is extremely important to me-I am a passionate person and love touching, cuddling and making love. I lost my husband seven years ago and waited til mystep-daughter, who I raised and feels like my very own child, left home last year, for me to start dating.I am ready to find someone special and that might mean kissing a few toads-LOL. Wisdom is important to me which comes not by the number ofdegrees one has but how they have learned from life experiences and understandingwhat is really important in life. Treating people with kindness and respect and beingpatient during hard times is important to me-I have a small but very affectionate family. I love God but am not a zealot nor do I believe injudging anyone else. I could lose a few pounds but am curvy...I enjoy going to the Y to work out a few timesa week and am told I am sexy and attractive. I feel young not in my 50's but do notbelieve in acting like a kid. Oh yes, and I often forget, but am reminded, I am very short(4'10).....has not ever seemed to affect tallgentlemen from asking me out. I have a big heart and personality...but know when to keep mymouth shut-remember that wisdom thing.I wrote this in about ten minutes before I lost the nerve to do it....I am a more complex person that thisportrays but am not into drama. To know me, is to love me........but I did lie when I selected 5 foot versus under- Meeting for a drink or coffee and talking to get to know someone. I am somewhat shy for about 5 minutes.

I subscribe to a "Think deeply, speak gently, love much, laugh a lot, word hard, give freely and be kind" way of living, where integrity, honesty, trust, laughter and kindness frame my picture of love, life, levity, and everything that is boldly colored in between. I believe that "coloring outside the lines" promotes greater self-discovery and risk, both of which are extremely important and yes, attractive, sexy and desirable, to me as a writer, educator and most importantly, a parent. When we restrict ourselves to a neatly designed and prescribed, flawless template of how we're supposed to look and behave, we inevitably are not being our authentic selves. For me, to embark on a relationship not being who we are is inevitably destined to fail because in the end, it's based on pretense and falsehood***not the ideal foundation for a loving, lasting relationship. My mission as a special educator is to individualize *** broken and bitter high school kids who have been through serious and often, life threatening traumas in their lives, where school took a back burner to just making it through the day. Our mission as loving and caring educators is to restore their faith in "man/womankind," and convince them how much they matter~~ despite their belief to the contrary~~ to themselves, and the people in their lives who love them. When I'm not trying to make the lives of these kids better, I love to hike, power walk, play with my dogs for hours, blog, read, and sip ridiculously good coffee with ridiculously awesome people. I find intellect extremely attractive .I also believe that you can tell whether a relationship is going to work with one kiss. So much can be said in that one kiss..... I have no set script for a first date other than it happens after some thoughtful, meaningful, and yes, flirtatious conversations, via phone, text, etc., that creates a very welcome flurry of butterflies in my stomach that lets me know that we won't be checking our watches every four minutes once we take the plunge and meet. Outdoor cafes; out-of-the-way coffee shops that at least 'offers' Fair Trade coffee with their other selections; independent book stores; beautiful parks conducive for walking and talking; and if all of that feels right, an "evening" date at a candle-lit pub or wine bar that offers tasty crudites and atmosphere.

I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and animals. My kids and Grandkids are a very important part of my life. I like all kinds of music but country is just easy. I like going for walks, working in my yard, reading, and good movies.
