About Me

Got back in November from traveling for ***months in Asia, so needless to say, travel is a pretty big part of my life! Graduated this past April from UofA with a degree in Sociology/Political Science. Currently I'm working to save money to jet off and travel/work abroad. I love meeting people from around the world and try to keep my appetite for travel fed by volunteering teaching English and (before I left to go traveling) working in a Backpacker's hostel. I go out every now and then but I'm no "bar star" anymore - it's not cheap!!! It's a phase everyone goes through I guess haha. I read quite a bit and my Christmas gift this year was a Kindle, and I love it. Just finished reading a collection of a series of interviews with Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. I would really like to visit Burma, so it is interesting to hear her views on the current situation there. I also keep up with current events, as I am a Political Science minor, and enjoy reading about politics and what's going on in the world in general.Another hobby of mine is cooking. I'm not saying I'm great at it, but I don't think I totally suck at it. I like coming home and cooking (most nights, except when I'm really wiped!), it helps the whole transition from "work to real life" thing. And I'm in a much better mood if I eat something that wasn't originally from the freezer section (although those pizzas are nice every now and then.....starting to get into the Sheepdogs, it was a natural leap as I enjoy 60s/70s hits as well and I think they have that good old school rock flavour. I like some R&B and popular country every now and then too.My goals in life definitely include a lot more travel plans, including working overseas. I'm not a "straight line" career/life path type person. I have lots of ideas and direction, but I try not to limit myself to thinking "school/career/house/family" Now that I've started out in the work world I see it a lot and don't see it as something I would enjoy...I'd always be thinking "What if I had done..." For first dates I like to just get to know a guy, coffee is always good. I like it when a guy tries to be original though!

Hi,First off, I can be a little bit of a nerd. I like books, movies and a little bit of gaming every once in awhile. I play the piano a little bit. Mainly for my own enjoyment than anything. I dislike playing in front of other people. One day I would like to overcome that fear. I would love to broaden my skills as a musician if I could. I would love to learn how to play the violin.I have my bachelor's degree in management, with a major in international management. My dream is to travel the world, and learn new languages. I don't mind most music. If it has good beat, or meaning, or story behind it, I'm game. However I will admit rap and techno I do not usually care for. I do not do horror movies, or horror anything really. I`

I love camping, fishing, jogging, paddle boarding and generally being outdoors.. In the summer. When I was a kid until I was thirteen I went skiidoing with my dad and had tons of fun but I haven't been on one since. Maybe if I started doing that again I would like the painstaking cold of winter :P I also love water, swimming and anything to do with being in water, I haven't done much in the sense of adventure but that's not to say I don't want to. I used to be quite happy but I was in a relationship for the past 4 years and it was just going in circles and it hurt more than anything, I'm currently just trying to meet new people and do some much needed soul searching. I really didn't agree with many of the things that this guy stood for and never could, I'd like to find someone who wants to understand and love me for everything I am and who I can do the same for. Someone who is funny and inspires me to be the best I can be.I work as a youth care worker and my job is very important to me. It is pretty much my life right now and I would really like to start getting out and doing more things with other people besides just going to work. I have two cats, a snake and some fresh water fish. I don't really know what else to say, if you would like to get to know me then send me a message. I'm very easy going and easy to get along with.. And when I'm nervous I tend to talk to much.. so I will stop now :)P.S. If you're a jerk, someone looking for a one night stand, someone who can't commit or someone who genuinely doesn't give a sh*tabout other people then please don't message me.

I finished my accounting/payroll course in Feb '11. It was an experience for sure, taught me a lot, and I loved the community. I returned to civilization last year. I plan on continuing my education in the fall. I love to travel. I try to take at least one trip a year. I love to experience the different cultures and languages. (I'm not completely fluent in any other languages, but I can get by in Spanish lol) I haven't been to Europe yet, but it's on my bucket list, among many other places. I have an amazing son who is everything to me. I'm not looking for an *** by any means, I'm just looking to see what's out there and where things go. If you want to know more, ask away...
