I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Curling up with a good book. Camping , biking . Or just sitting by a fire . I also enjoy beening outside doing what ever comes to mind. Life is to short to sit back and not try to find the right person for you. I happen to think there is that one special person out there . Or walking down the street and just saying hello to whom you walk by. Makes someones day just a bit brighter. Looking for the one who can make me feel like no other can with just a look .

So I'm trying meetville - was an OKC user for about 18 months and met a couple of interesting people, but not my lifelong soulmate - so I am hopeful he's around here somewhere. Hopefully you! I can come across as a little intimidating sometimes. I'm bright, confident, a take-charge sort. But once I know I can count on someone, I'm able to let my guard down and soften up a bit. I'm one of the most genuine people you will ever meet, sort of an unusual combination of practical, fun, lighthearted, serious ... and I keep a lot of balls in the air at one time. So here’s some things about me … I am introspective, compassionate, a deep thinker with a wicked sense of humor. Politically, I lean left on social issues. I believe that a society is only as strong as its weakest member, and I believe that those of us who are more fortunate have a responsibility to those who have less. Certainly there is some abuse of the system, but I think that outside the truly antisocial among us, people truly want to be productive, happy, and successful. Not everyone is lucky enough to be born into that sort of happenstance. I love kids, though I am no longer actively raising any, and they tend to like me too. I have one small dog, quiet and generally well-behaved but somewhat high maintenance (Chihuahua). Musically, I tend to gravitate more toward the obscure. Listened to new wave in the eighties, alt rock in the nineties, and these days I like 91.7 quite a bit. That said, I am really open to all music and am a fan of most of it.) love live theater, symphony, indie artist small show or an outdoor one. If I do see a movie, my taste goes more toward indie/foreign as opposed to blockbuster. Food – I am on a bit of an Indian kick these days. I also love sushi and most other ethnic foods. Small and independently run restaurants get my vote any day over chains, fast food, or big box options. I try to make vegetarian choices – both for health reasons and because of the ecological impact of meat production, as well as the cruelty rampant in the industry. I am also ever more concerned about corporate profiteering and the shortcuts taken by the food industry – corporate greed at the top and misplaced emphasis on responsibility to shareholders is putting our collective health at risk in ways we can't begin to imagine. On the subject of food, it seems there's a number of really big guys on here who haven't quite figured out yet the connection between diet and lifestyle and health...so I’m going to be honest. I like big guys! Tall, a little overweight, that's fine with me. That said, I work daily on making healthy food decisions and on exercising “on-the-go” – taking the stairs, walking everywhere I can, bicycling, foot scooter, lol, even some skating. It’s a process. I understand that decisions today affect health later, and I try to act accordingly. If you aren't there yet, I don't think we'll be a good fit. Because of the work I do I know what happens in our fifties and sixties if we let ourselves completely go in our thirties and forties ... so I fight it tooth and nail :-). Another thing about me – my schedule is unusual. I will be able to tweak it some to sustain the right relationship, but right now my work requires some evening and even overnight hours. I love the work I do and the feeling I have when I know I made a difference in someone’s life. Contributing to the world in the way I do is important to me, and I want to continue it in some capacity for a while yet. Here are some things I’m hoping to find in a partner. I guess this is somewhat a wish list. interested in education and a lifelong learner – these are pretty important. Tolerant of and kind to small animals and children. In terms of personality, someone who is more open to reflection than concrete knowledge of how things are, approach life’s problems and solutions with an active and open mind toward improvement and tend to see the glass as more full than empty. Hopefully you’re not overly egotistical. I prefer a guy who is able to take charge and problem solve and help me stay focused – I am somewhat an idealist and can be off in a lot of different directions sometimes! Someone who can both tolerate that and help redirect me when needed would be awesome. With any luck, I'm not asking the impossible, but I know I'm asking a lot! Do you enjoy bicycling, walking/hiking, talking, holding hands, travel and adventure, camping, swimming in lakes... if it seems like we'll have fun together, we can figure it out from there. if you live in the burbs, I'm happy to meet you closer to your part of town. DFW has so much to discover.
