Woman. 50 years old. Zodiac sign: Libra.
Looking for: man. In age: 47-57
For the past 14 years I have been a teacher. Before that I was in the Army for 4 years. After teaching I'd like to start a photography business. Photography is one of my hobbies but I would like it to be more.I love all animals (except cochroaches) but horses in particular. If I were to win the lottery I would buy a ranch with several horses and ride every day. But since I don't even play the lottery....My hobbies included hiking, biking, gardening, dog agility, sewing (have made about half my wardrobe for school), knitting and crocheting during the winter, and music. Well actually I am a music teacher so that's more of a profession. My father was an immigrant from a very large family but in contrast I am American born and an only child. I love to do many things outdoors but if you cannot live without hunting or fishing I am not the one for you. My only trip overseas was to Iraq courtesy of the Army but I very much want to travel abroad. Within the U.S. Meet at a restaurant. Talk about things we like to do. Plan another meeting around mutual interests.

I value honesty above all else and believe in giving people an opportunity to show me who they are, not based upon my past experiences as the measuring device which to judge them.I love outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking and geocaching. I'm skilled at tripping and falling over stones and dead trees, so its nice to have a spotter with me. I'm really into American history and when I travel, historical sites are a given. I am fortunate to have a job that pays me to talk all day, because that is another thing I quite enjoy. I go through phases where I'll spend months reading one book after another, then I switch and pursue another interest for awhile. I love historical fiction and non-fiction, but enjoy reading from a variety of genres. I'm not really a TV, movie or music person. Shocking! We do exist. I do enjoy these things, but they are just not that important to me. I do like live shows, especially theatre.Always be straight with me, I don't offend easily. I need someone in my life who will tell me what I'm doing that is ticking them off just as quickly as they'll tell me what is turning them on. I'm a real, honest, genuine person and I expect the same in return.FYI: If you are a Christian who attends services at least somewhat regularly, you get bonus points! Something so simple, it's romantic. A walk through the park and laughing while feeding the ducks. I like looking in a man's eyes when we talk. I like sitting next to him, so I can feel his presence. I like making a connection through quality time spent doing something simple.

Woman. 46 years old. Zodiac sign: Aquarius.
Looking for: man. In age: 43-53
SWF, 45, Jewish with serious Eastern leanings. Interested in all faiths, though..... Creative, compassionate, extroverted, open-hearted.I like to do many things, from hiking to yoga, writing to seeing good indie-art film (and mainstream). I'm madly in love with my nieces, who live far away and I don't get to see enough. I'm also madly in love with my kitties that I adopted in February. I believe we are here to leave the world just a bit better than we found it, and I believe we are all capable of doing so.I'm a social worker, a yoga teacher, and a writer. I love being out in nature, and finding off-the-beaten path places to eat/shop/explore. I find myself most compatible with people who are comfortable talking about feelings, and in particular people who have found meaning in the difficulties of life. ***note: I want to see your face. no picture, no reply--it's ***, and it's just, well, creepy to be on a site like this and not have a picture.I also won't typically respond to a "want to meet you". You want to meet me? throw caution to the wind and take the five minutes to send me a message! Are you brave enough to do it? If not....it's likely we won't hit it off.My favorite shows are The Office, Parks and Rec, Six Feet Under, Mad About You, and, most recently, Party Down.I only have TV so that I can have HBO (although they've been disappointing me with their shows of late)...to ambient meditation music.I'm very independent and don't *need* anyone....but at this point in my life I also know the value of *choosing* to be with someone, creating a partnership. I value honesty over almost anything else, and I return the favor. I mean what I say, and say what I mean--why do so many people not believe this? meet for a cup of sometihng (coffee, drink, dessert). Nothing heavy duty; my only aspiration is to figure out if we would both like a second date. I don't really believe in love at first sight.....but I'm more than willing to be surprised.
