About Me

After a lifetime of playing by the rules, I'm staging a jailbreak. I'm rewriting the rules to suit myself, and will be restructuring my professional life over the next couple of years to allow me to live my personal life the way I want to. My passion is animals. I have 3 dogs, I volunteer, and a large percentage of my friends are animal welfare people. I also am passionate about photography, travel, writing, and a few other things, some of which (like dancing) have been on the back burner for too long now.I asked my oldest friend from childhood how he would describe me to someone he wanted me to meet. His response: "Refreshingly honest, addicted to good grammar and helping animals; wimps and liberals need not apply." Who I'm looking for: My best friend, lover, and partner in mischief. Someone who considers himself successful in his chosen career and as a person. A man who loves dogs, who loves to travel, who shares my core values and faith. A man who communicates well and is comfortable expressing what he feels, thinks, and wants. A man who is open to shared new experiences. It's not a moral position. I am actually allergic to alcohol. I am uncomfortable around heavy drinkers, but it's not going to bother me at all if you order a drink or two at dinner.2. GUYS! You're asking women who know NOTHING about you to assume that they should meet you based on the fact that meetville popped up your profile. Do you really think any woman with some common sense and self-respect will go for that? DEAL BREAKERS: tobacco, substance abuse, not liking animals, "separated" but not divorced. I am NOT interested in dating men who are more than a year or two outside of my stated age range, nor will I correspond with men who live on the other side of the country. If you are a staunch Obama supporter or a dedicated urbanite, we're probably not a match. If you make no effort to spell correctly or insist on typing in text-speak...well, I AM an educator. It'll drive me nuts. Not in a good way.
