About Me

About Me:I'm an attractive, very young looking 36 yo (who can pass for 20 any day of the week). I have a strong sense of adventure and always try to make the best out of whatever is thrown my way. I live in a safe part of L.A. I stay pretty active but always make time for friends and those I hold close to my heart. I live with a rare medical condition that is part of who I am. I was born with it and have had a lifetime to adjust.... so this isn't something new that I need to have my hand held through. :-) When it flares it can take on countless forms in terms of symptoms, but I always seem to manage to deal with them and move forward in life. Currently, I am in the treatment stages from a bad flare that begun two years ago. I have learned more about life in this time than I have in my entire 33 years prior. For about the last 6 months, I require the use of an electric wheelchair for distances beyond 1 block. Furthermore, my primary nutrition is obtained via a surgically implanted feeding tube. It is hidden under clothing and most don't know it exists unless I show them. I can still go out and enjoy a cup of coffee, but I cannot eat solid food and do not absorb the liquids I drink (so they are for the sake of taste only). I try to stay positive always and tend to play around with friends when it comes to my wheelchair ... such as giving them rides on the back. If I choose to go full speed, it can create some truly funny moments... as one would need to run (literally >6.0mph) to keep up with me. I know disclosing such info might seem odd to some, but why omit such a thing when (hopefully) we are eventually going to meet and the truth will come out anyhow? I value honesty greatly and have zero desire to misrepresent myself. Besides, as I mentioned above, I see my handicap as a good thing despite the difficulty it presents. It has made me stronger and that is a very powerful gift.As for my friends, they are the greatest anyone could ever hope for. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be surrounded by people that are loyal, loving and supportive of my endeavours. They have often described me as adventurous (snowboarding, anyone? If you have children, I am "OK" with this. I raised two boys in the past ***for many years and am proud of the young men they have become. Having said that, I am not necessarily looking to have children. I would consider it only ...if I was with a man I truly loved and he really wanted to have one of his own. What I seek:First off, the following are "absolutes" for any Man that chooses to contact me: 1. If you have stated and/or selected via dropdown anything comparable to, "Wants to date, but nothing serious," then I am not what you seek. Similar phrases include "Not seeking any kind of commitment" ..and so forth. In turn, this does not mean I am looking to settle down and marry the next Man of interest whom crosses my path! It's simply the reality that causal is easy. If a casual date is all I desired, well, I wouldn't need to be on a dating site for such encounters. In fact, I suppose very few women would need to be here for such - not just me. 2. If your photos showcase you holding an alcoholic beverage in 90% or more of the images, I have no interest in talking with you. Granted, I do not mind in the least someone who drinks socially. I just find absolutely nothing attractive about alcoholics. Moving along....I seek a Man ideally between the ages of ***that is Single and open minded when it comes to dating a Woman in my situation. I seek someone who is independent ...secure both financially and mentally. I can take care of my bills just fine and expect anyone I am with to do the same. Typically speaking, I like Dominant Men. I enjoy giving up power from time to time, and I appreciate a Man that can take such a thing and just run with it. I enjoy fetish and leather based clubs/events and I'd love to find a partner in crime to enjoy them with.In terms of physical features, well..I'm fairly open-minded. Height, race and religion are not of importance to me. However, I do need to have some level of physical attraction to anyone I am with - and would expect the same in return. Furthermore, someone that can hold their own in an intellectual conversation is important. I enjoy discussing world events and the news on a regular basis. People often remark that I am incredibly well rounded when it comes to my knowledge base. This is true and it's because my physical sense of adventure and curiosity (jet skiing, etc.) carry over to my intellectual side as well. I am particularly fond of: medical science, ancient history, psychology, unsolved mysteries, nanotechnology, computer science, archaeology, cuisine, and linguistics. Religion and politics, however, are topics I tend to avoid unless I am truly comfortable with a person. As I've briefly mentioned above, I enjoy adrenaline-based sports. Since my need for a wheelchair has become a factor, I've been searching for ways to maintain this sense of adrenaline.... safely within my limits. Adaptive sports (such as skiing) is one way. I am open to discovering as much I can ...and would love for a partner to join me not only with the physical activities, but also with the research side of discovering new ones that we can enjoy together. Also, please understand that my dogs are often in photos because they are service animals - not just pets. When I am alone, one is always with me to help out. However, if I am with someone, they generally stay home since I usually don't need their extra help. This means that chances are, they will *not* be with me on dates...unless you specifically request to meet one, or both. In the event, you do ...they are amazingly well behaved, and fully trained. Lastly, I ask that you please have at least one recent photo, or be able to send me one privately, if it is not posted for public view. I acknowledge the lighting might not be the greatest, but they are still respectfully very current pictures, and even show my wheelchair. This way you know I've put in some honest effort to provide photos that represent me accurately - not some weird angle and so forth. I genuinely appreciate others that do the same, and offer my thanks in advance. :-) Well for starters... I'll show up.
